Story Movie

Friday Foster, an ex-model for a popular magazine, travels to Los Angeles International Airport to photograph the arrival of Blake Tarr, one of America's richest black men. In the field of Foster's lens are three men who attempt to assassinate Blake Tarr. From that moment on, Foster is immersed in a web of conspiracy to assassinate her childhood friend, a U.S. Senator, orchestrated by a rumored individual known by the nickname "The Black Widow." Events, in which she understands nothing, develop rapidly, but after a series of attempts on her life, Friday Foster begins to realize that to stay alive, she must rely only on her own strength and trust no one ...

Review 4K Movie

Friday Foster is another cult film starring Pam Grier. It ranks second on my list of her best works (after Coffy). I watched this film right after Foxy Brown, and while I didn't particularly like the first one, the second one captivated me and kept me hooked until the very end. Grier plays a photojournalist who investigates the murder of a girl named Gloris and the attempted murder of Blake Tarra, one of the richest African Americans in the United States...

Overall, it's a very successful mix of detective and action movie. What I liked about it was the absence of the theme of revenge, which was very prevalent in Pam's previous films. The film has a lot of dynamics and funny dialogues. It's the kind of movie where you don't have to strain yourself too much. You can relax and enjoy watching it without getting too caught up in the details. And Pam is very good here... Besides her, I remember Yafet Cotto as the detective, Ertha Kitt, and the guy who played Pam's brother.

Friday Foster is also a very stylish film. Some scenes are unparalleled. For example, I liked the episode where a gangster breaks into a girl's shower and attacks her. It's very well done — lots of suspense. It's worth noting that the film was not directed by Jack Hill, who worked on Coffy and Foxy, but by someone named Arthur Marx. Friday Foster was one of this director's last works in “big cinema,” which is a shame. He was a skilled director... I suspect that many viewers will not like this film. Many will find it too silly and far-fetched... The film has a low rating. You probably have to be a big fan of blaxploitation to appreciate Friday Foster.
