The series of films about a maniac cop is, in my opinion, one of the most unusual and mysterious productions in the horror genre. Firstly, because of the main villain, who is cruel, silent, and mysterious. Secondly, because of the unusual concept. Of course, there are plenty of films about two-faced cops, but in this case, the cop is on the same level as Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and other villains.

The first episode is notable for the fact that, until almost the end of the film, the viewer is convinced that the murders are being committed either by the same “two-faced cop” who has gone crazy at work, or by a copycat maniac who is trying to humiliate and trample on the defenders of law and order with his actions. Thus, the film unfolds with quite tense events, showing the fear of ordinary citizens who, after hearing the news about a killer in a police uniform, stop trusting all police officers, as a result of which everyday life in the city where the events take place descends into chaos and lawlessness, with an increase in crime on the streets. Apparently, this film was not made by accident; perhaps it was relevant to America in the 1980s, when the level of crime committed by people in uniform reached a certain peak. Perhaps with this film, the creators wanted to show how one person can instill fear of law enforcement in the public consciousness, as well as no less fear in the minds of law enforcement officers themselves.

More than 20 years have passed since then, but it is still tense to watch, both observing the characters in the film and empathizing with them, and imagining that such a nightmare is possible in real life.

The development of events is more than interesting; throughout the film, there are actions that will keep the viewer watching what is happening on the screen until the end. And as I mentioned above, another bright plus of the film is the realism of what is happening.
