A great warrior confronts the treacherous King Gerak and Queen Sultana, who have illegally seized the kingdom that rightfully belongs to the beautiful Princess Evy. The death catcher and the princess await many dangers - cruel pirates, bloodthirsty Amazons, deadly swamps, seductive witches, zombies and other terrible creatures that inhabit the kingdom of Jerak. And only the final battle will decide which weapon is stronger - sword or sorcery!

The first Deathstalker was a cheap but exciting fantasy film, full of fights and naked women, especially the second one. You can judge its professional suitability as much as you like, but one thing is certain: fans of medieval-themed trash got a decent example. But still, no matter how you look at it, the second part of this epic has always been more popular with us.

It was directed by the famous B-movie guru Jim Wynnorski, which predictably resulted in the film being stripped of its seriousness and the addition of simple humor. Add to this the inexpensive sets and abundance of naked women—the recipes for success of the first Death Hunter—and you'll have a great time for the next hour and a half.

The plot of the second film is not related to the first, except that it features a character with the same name, Deathstalker. This charismatic thief gets involved in an adventure to restore the exiled princess, who pretends to be a fortune teller, to the throne. And what does she need to do to regain her rightful place? That's right, kill the evil sorcerer who, together with the princess's clone, dreams of world domination.

The second ‘The Thief’, like the first, is worth watching not for the special effects or the lavish sets, which are few and far between. It should be watched solely for the spirit of adventure, which is certainly not the same as in Indiana Jones or Conan the Barbarian, but for a sequel released straight to video, the film feels extremely confident.

I would particularly like to mention the sword fights, among which the final battle between Lovecraft and the sorcerer stands out. These scenes are staged with imagination and are a pleasure to watch, especially since there is no other action here as such, except for the protagonist's fight with a burly Amazon. There is less blood and gore here than in the first film, but again, this is done in favor of humor, which is quite appropriate.

The actors are charismatic, especially the main character John Terleski and his opponent, the sorcerer John La Zar. Things are not so smooth with Monique Gabriel in the role of the princess/evil clone. She is a beautiful and sweet girl, but she cannot act in either role. Well, at least she has a great figure.

Overall, I would like to summarize by saying that Deathstalker 2 turned out to be cheaper than the first part, but at the same time more unrestrained and funnier. This is not a film that can be recommended for family viewing, but it is great entertainment for an evening.
