Review 4K Movie

I'll start from afar. In 2008, the film 'Ip Man' was released with Donnie Yong in the title role. Nobody knew who Ip Man was (except for fans of martial arts and fans of Bruce Lee). Only a few knew about Donnie Yen, since his career, unlike Jackie Chan and Jet Li, did not work out in the West. But it doesn't matter. All action movie lovers rushed to watch this film when they came to the line that spoke about Bruce Lee's teacher. I also fell for this movie. And it did not disappoint me in the least. Donnie Yong does not amaze with an extensive palette of emotions on the screen, but a true martial arts master should be calm and fearless like a python who dined (well, at least that's how they explained to us in the movies since childhood). The plot of the first part was close to the original biography of Ip Man with a small addition of beautiful lies. The battle scenes were set in such a way that they could be declared standard. The film looked like a 'hurray!' and flew by instantly, delighting us with juicy action scenes.

The first part hit a good jackpot at the box office. The producers turned their noses at the smell of money and almost immediately started filming the second part, which was released in 2010. There was even less truth about Ip Man and even more gag from the writers. But on the other hand, in this film there was Sammo Hung, whom we love dearly since childhood (I'm talking about those who watched films with Jackie Chan in their childhood before the holes). The plot of the second part is built on classic plot moves about bad Western people, about certain rules within the 'union' of kung fu schools, about Chinese traditions (I remember something else on this topic - the 'Drunken Master' dilogy) and about the love of loved ones. The story, frankly weak in terms of drama, is again generously flavored with action scenes - a lot of action and cool kung fu. Actually, the second part left at the expense of three points:

1. Charming Donnie Yong

2. Coolest Sammo Hung

3. Beautiful fighting scenes

There is nothing more good in the second part. Ip Man conquers the bad and everyone is happy. Amen! The fees of the second part exceeded the fees from the first one by almost 2 times. It is strange that we had to wait for the third part for 6 years.

So, 6 years have passed. 'Ip Man 3' appeared to the world. In the third part, the writers decided to give a damn about the historical accuracy. The plot practically does not coincide with the real biography of the great master. But we are already accustomed to the fact that in this series the main thing is not the plot, but the battle scenes. But we will return to them a little later. In addition to being unreliable, they could not come up with a new 'cool' danger in the plot, which Master Ipu must overcome. Instead, greedy Western people, a nursery school, a little piece about Bruce Lee and another master of the Wing Chun style are dumped in a heap. It would seem - to mix all this properly and it would turn out cool. But as one famous song is sung: 'I blinded you out of what was. I just forgot to mix it. ' As a result, we get two storylines at once and one stub about Bruce Lee. Moreover, people were lured into watching people with a trailer, which hinted that Bruce was one of the central characters. And in fact Bruce we see a little bit at the beginning and a little bit at the end. That is, to lure something lured, and then deceived. Instead of Bruce Lee, we see the story of a local gang trying to squeeze out the school premises (expensive real estate), and the story of another kung fu master who is just 'hellish' jealous of Ip Man and wants to defeat him. The plots are intertwined. But it seems to me that the first plot was invented only in order to film then a cool fight between Donnie Yen and Mike Tyson (the fight is really cool - it's worth watching). This line ends in nothing. I will not even talk about such absurdities in the plot as the fact that everyone fought with Ip Man, instead of just shooting him and not suffering. But otherwise there would be nothing to watch.

The acting is the same as in the first part. They play not very believable, but they try. Even Mike Tyson plays more believable than all the other actors put together (probably the Chinese acting school is to blame for everything - everyone plays like the actors of Hong Kong action movies of the 70s). Donnie Yong tries to play a grief-stricken husband, but, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't even squeeze out a semblance of a tear. I will separately mention the actor who played Bruce Lee. Kwok-Kuen-chan (in reality, Danny Chan Kwok-Kwan) has an external resemblance to the great actor and even already took his image in the film Killer Football, but he looks extremely unconvincing. He copies Bruce's most famous gestures from his films and looks like a jester, not a future martial arts idol and movie star.

The rest of the film is not inferior to the first two parts. The 'lots of action' formula worked great here as well. The film looks easy and casual. Some fight scenes look especially interesting (a fight with a muay thai master and a fight with a hero Mike Tyson). But after watching and there is nothing to remember, except for these very episodes with fights. The series is gradually becoming obsolete and it would be good if this was the last picture in this franchise.

I recommend the film only to fans of kung fu, as to others it may seem boring and inexpressive.
