Director Rodolfo Sayagues, together with producer Federico Alvarez, a duo that has already successfully got their hands on the creation of horror films, delighted us with their new masterpiece - the film Don't Breathe - 2.

And again before us will appear a gloomy dull old house and its inhabitant - a wiry, blind old man. This gray-haired athlete is played by the well-known Stephen Lang (Gods and Generals, Tumstone, Avatar, etc.). His granddaughter lives with him, a charming teenage girl in a brilliant performance by Madeline Grace. And everything would be fine, but once very bad and evil people with weapons came to this house ...

Well, then everything is clear. The "adult" (that is, with blood on the walls) version of "One House" began.

However, for me personally, this story reminded me much more of one American film somewhere from the early 90s. It told about an old man, a veteran of the Second World War. Which was once famous for the fact that in an underground battle (in some mine) he was able to kill five Japanese soldiers with one bayonet. And in old age he turned out to be a resident of a "bad" area (just like the hero of the same Lang in this new film). Where a gang of colored gopniks and racketeers raged (now about such a film will no longer be removed, politically incorrect and politically incorrect, you understand!). Grandfather stepped on their corn and they came to his house. Where they stayed ... Let's remember him and the "Gran Torino" of the great Clint Eastwood. There will be only one "but" - "Don't Breathe-2" - this is a drama at minimum wages. This film is much closer to pure horror and sometimes even slasher. Well, the genesis of the militant is also evident. Moreover, I did not like the dramatic intrigue of the second half of the picture. And I will say like a Latinos bandit from her - "This is wrong!" It is clear - yes. It is logical - let's say. But it's still somehow wrong. Although I guessed the ending. And I agree with him. As with the choice of what one of the main characters made, too. In general, drugs and slammers do not bring anyone to good. Yes.

In general, as a thriller - the film was a success. Blind grandfather (former special forces officer) hurricanes in full. Violence will be severe here, skulls and necks will crack. In general, this film is a hymn to the basic edged weapon, which is exactly what was at hand at the right time. And which leaves behind mostly classic injuries caused by a blunt heavy object. But thugs are not a bit sorry here. And grandfather is a real monster. But this time it is more likely in the positive sense of the word.

The social aspect of the film is also interesting. A classic suburb, a habitat of the former lower middle class, "blue collars", which in fact has become a kind of "Comanche territory", where even the police and firefighters are in no hurry to come ... What is this - an allusion to the twilight of a great power, which, like many of their predecessors in the historical arena , wasted her forces in many local wars? Having left for themselves only the poverty of their citizens and having spawned those who have learned how to easily kill thugs? ..

A very good movie. Meat with blood, invigorating roast. Lang is amazing. As well as the girl.
