Gangster Buddy Israel agrees to cooperate with the FBI and testify against his Mafia cronies. A large reward of a million dollars is set for his life by a mob boss, and Buddy is in real danger of losing his life before the trial even begins.

Protection of Israel is entrusted to two agents of the FBI - Messner and Carruthers, who have a difficult task to protect an important witness from hired killers. But the work of the agents is complicated by the fact that Buddy himself is not used to sitting in four walls, and stubbornly seeks to appear in crowded places and attract public attention.

There's never a dull moment in Las Vegas!
There's always something going on in this city. Here you can become fabulously rich in one night, just as you can wake up fabulously poor in the morning. Here thirteen friends have thrown a fancy hotel, well, Raul Duke and Dr. Gonzo had a lot of fun, and finally, in 2006, a bunch of FBI agents and money-hungry mercenaries came here to get Buddy Israel, a guy who was playing around... A colorful city, this Las Vegas, you never get bored here.

The film is structured like a road into the woods. First we turn onto it, then we see a sign - "Watch out for potholes". But we're interested, we keep going anyway, and we keep getting more and more jolted until we hit the bearings and get stuck for good, and finally realize that we've come here for nothing. Such is the case with the film, as the story unfolds, the director pours more and more oil into the fire, until he opens our eyes in the very finale.

The plot is simple, but with its own details and interesting moments. As the story progresses, it warms up and puts us in all its glory. Everything was so simple! It seemed like the typical setup for all crime movies - there's a Klan boss, necessarily Sicilian, and his target is a card virtuoso, 1 million greenbacks and a court case in one person. It's simple, but then they pour gasoline and detergent into the barrel of the story in the form of action, bring a match over it all, and now it's getting fun.

The star cast and side characters are perfect in their niches. So many names, so many incidents, but one does not interfere with the other. Though I still find Ben Affleck's name incomprehensible for the entire poster, if his role is no more than 10 minutes long. But still this trifle does not spoil the film, Andy Garcia is in Vegas again, and again he is impenetrable and good in his role, Ryan Reynolds, as it turns out, is good not only in comedies, and Ray Liotta is not only in roles of bad guys. Also worth noting are the trio of brothers, totally deranged and antisocial personalities, although they have a car, you can die (c) ... And of course the weird lawyer, with the head of a rabbit. Despite the abundance of roles in the film, it's taken lightly and naturally. I, at least, was not confused.

The effects... well, they are appropriate here, and even then they are limited to Taraji Henson's character. But the filming itself is simply gorgeous. What a beautiful style of credits, with appropriate music and pictures of the protagonists, all in the same style of explosive mixture. As they say Nothing more, nothing less.
And the music selection, it's only worth mentioning the name Clint Mansell, everything is clear...
