Review 4K Movie

The distant future. Earth is enslaved by humans whose minds are in a trance state and controlled by a common enemy, the transeurs. The main character, professional trance hunter Jack Dett, is given a particularly important task - to go to the distant past and find and destroy a trance leader who has moved into the past and intends to kill the ancestors of members of the government of the future.

The film is the brainchild of the low-budget 'Full Moon' studio specializing in making cheap sci-fi movies. That's why this movie, with its meager artwork, went straight to video. However, 'Tranters' is one example of how for less money you can make a pretty interesting sci-fi, which has not only a charismatic protagonist, but also many original ideas.

For example, it is almost the first case in cinematography, where they use the original concept of movement in time: the hero goes to the past by moving the mind in the body of an ancestor. It looks pretty original, and on this budget it's quite bearable (maybe they didn't want to spend money on all sorts of whistles and explosions when moving through time). The very idea of zombified people is an old one in cinema, but here it takes on a rather interesting concept: the man is still alive, but his mind is controlled by someone who wants power.

Yes, the movie has rather poor presentation, but the creators had an idea, and as for me, they realized it quite perfectly, and it is clear that the lack of money, but the desire to create something original and fantastic led to the idea of time travel. The plot is interesting, and develops quickly, although it has sagging moments, like the hero's visit to a hobo camp. Perhaps these are due to the fact that the film, in addition to being sci-fi, tries to play up a bit of drama, humor, and even noir. The latter is especially true of the rather charismatic protagonist, who Hollywood never got his hands on - forever with frowning eyebrows that look a little comical, boorish, determined, but hell-bent on marksmanship and luck. His image somewhat resembles that of James Bond when crossed with a noir detective character.

Unfortunately, due to its low budget, not many people know about the movie, but that doesn't mean you have to miss it. The movie is quite interesting, and if you get into the events, you will be very impressed, unless, of course, you don't care about special effects, which are almost non-existent here. But there is a rugged hero, trannies and original finds, and there's nothing else you need for this movie.
