Review 4K Movie

"The Lost City of Z" is an example of a movie whose real-life adaptation, plays a weighty role on the perception as you watch and on its outcome. I would like to say that the adventures that took place in reality are exciting not only because conventionally everything was so, but also because the outcome of the whole story we do not know.

Percy Fawcett is a World War I hero, a serving man doing interesting things in his life. Honor and dignity, to him are paramount in his personal qualities. Not knowing the difficulties, overcoming life's obstacles, risking his health, risking everything, including the chance to never see his beloved wife and children again, he goes towards discoveries, strives for a dream, so unreal and seemingly so close... Finding an ancient city, the origins of which, its people and decoration, will shock the world and immortalize Fawcett is a holy, noble and great cause.

What the protagonist follows, on what principles he takes risks from time to time, and "what could be after", is not revealed to the viewer before the final credits, here it is more about reflections and stunned by what we saw, but the creators decided to insert a small afterword ("what was after") (however, a classic move of adapted pictures). Definitely, there is no sense to make something up, covering what happened with mysticism, as many real unsolved cases, mysticism comes by itself, and with it, theories and discussability of mankind for decades to come.

James Gray has recreated many of the events in an atmospheric and detailed way, immersing us in a team of adventurers, and somehow becoming uncomfortable when it comes to near-death encounters. Therein lies one of the hallmarks of the narrative. Dialogues, communication between characters, actions - a living recreation of the picture. Certain phrases can be perceived as prophetic or fateful. The acting is wonderful, each of the actors is in his place, and their recognizability is next to memorability. Charlie Hunnam (Percy Fawcett) pulled out the main role, the development of his character is incredibly interesting to follow, the years pass with him, the era changes, his life is diverse and exciting. All in all, writing books and making documentaries and feature films based on this man's life was a thing of the past.

Robert Pattinson and Angus MacFadyen invested in the project with first-class acting, adding charisma and passion to the tape. Sienna Miller and Tom Holland complemented the scripted action. Separately remembered promising Edward Ashley. The drama is conveyed very well, you believe it. The deadly and tantalizing jungle and uncharted thickets are filmed in such a way that it feels as if the crew repeated several of Fawcett's expeditions step by step. The empathy also works. The camerawork serves as a guide to questionable journeys - Darius Khondji ("Seven," "Alien 4: Resurrection"), pulls off the trick of being involved in events not for the first time, and he pulls it off professionally, which is to say, you can't imagine it any better.

The movie is worth watching for people who from the word adventure, there is a real excitement. The famous genre may have appeared thanks to the stories about Percy Fawcett and develops to this day, because its roots are always relevant, they excite the imagination, encouraging dreamers to action. A beautiful life story...
