Oh, Roger Vadim, Roger Vadim... Every muse is a sex symbol in cinematography... He knew how to love girls through the lens of a movie camera. So love that saliva flowing, and on the face - a smile up to the ears from the clapping of huge innocent blue eyes Barbarella for centuries. She's one and only. Unrepeatable. Pure love. The first, and most memorable, is the weightless striptease. I remember, one sweet-voiced Australian tried to repeat this masterpiece, but why try, since everyone has long known that such moments are not that do not repeat - they exist in another reality. And we, mere mortals, can only enjoy them, revisiting them time after time.

Yes, I'm a girl. And I'm not a woman of Lesbos. But how can you resist Barbarella?!?!? What a question! She's naive and simple. She's funny. And I laugh with her. She's a stunning beauty. When Barbarella floats in weightlessness in a heavy, gray and clumsy spacesuit, and then it follows this - the body pops out, starting with thin long fingers on the hands and ending with a mop of straw-colored hair, and the letters are formed into one word - BARBARELLA....

Second, it's the clothes. Barbarella's iconic look helped to create Paco Rabanne. Tight bodysuits, with an emphasis on the chest and belly, furs and sequins - no man's imagination will be able to doze off (mine certainly didn't) when you see such things, and even in crazy cardboard sets. I love cardboard.

And the third and most important thing for me is the music. Light and unobtrusive, it hits right on target, complementing the picture with wordless trippy moments. When you listen to it as a separate soundtrack, you go straight back to space - you fly on the wings of love of angel Paigor to meet Barbarella and the Great Dictator Anita Pallenberg....
