Fate brings them together with the representative of the future, Rufus, who travels in a time machine like a phone booth. With it, Bill and Ted not only move into the past, but also take many historical personalities from there.

Are you sure they've changed?
It's a very good question George Carlin's character asks the actors of this film. But only one thing has changed: Keanu Reeves, who became one of the most recognizable actors in Hollywood, starring in such hits of the 90's as On the crest of the wave, Speed, the Devil's Advocate and, of course, the Matrix. Quite a good leap for a beginner actor in category C films (I don't know the alphabet of categories), especially because of this movie he became a meme in the year 2013. A little distracted from the topic, now let's move on to the movie.

As for this picture in terms of plot, we can say a few words: Two cool dudes - Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are going, like all the cool dudes become famous. However, our heroes are schoolboys, so it becomes an obstacle to achieving the goal. In short, our couple have to take a history exam to finish school and start a career. Besides, Ted's father is threatening to give up his offspring in military school if he fails the exam.

But soon (O miracle!) there is a character Rufus, played by the unique comedian George Carlin. And he appears for a reason, and the time machine, and his mission is to help friends pass the exam, because then they will not become famous, the talent will die and the future spoils. Rufus lends a couple of time machines, and the dudes go to the past (and future) to question the most famous people of different epochs about the life of their century, because only they are able (judging by the film) to give an accurate answer about this life.

In principle, and the whole story, although a simple story does not require more. I want to get to one small flaw: Why is the time machine so mediocrely used in this film? Because with such a cool machine you could change so much: Prevent the mistakes of the past, win the lottery, see your future, etc. But our young 'geniuses' use it only to pass the exam, and they can do more... And they have nothing to risk, because they always have plenty of time, and the meeting with themselves does not end in anything dangerous (not like in the movie Back to Future 2, where meeting themselves caused the Spatial Time Continuum).

Even though I'm too picky about using the time machine, I still like this movie. It can be viewed as a nostalgic cure for the '80s. In my opinion, this film has become one of the cult films in terms of idea and comedy of a fantastic plot. As far as humour is concerned, there are no jokes, everything works out. For Keanu Reeves, it was one of the first roles, but also one of the most significant and resurrecting (still remembered in one of the scenes).

Final verdict: If you are a fan of Keanu Reeves or if you like little known cult movies, I recommend watching them.
