Story Movie

The 21st century was the last century in the life of many of the world's largest cities. Paris and Sydney, New York and Shanghai were blown to pieces by a dozen giant monsters of all kinds. The United Nations Organization urgently gathers to discuss the main question: how to survive in this terrible battle with monsters ... And then, quite unexpectedly, a huge flying object approaches the Earth, whose representatives inform that our planet has a very definite and very short period of time left to exist. Because from the depths of space to the Earth flies comet, after collision with which will come the natural end of the world ... Meanwhile, Godzilla sleeps peacefully in the ice of Antarctica....

Review 4K Movie

In 2004, Godzilla, a legend of Japanese cinema, turned 50. That same year, it was decided to retire Godzilla. The farewell tour of the king of monsters had to be appropriate. Ryuhei Kitamura, author of such grandiose films as Midnight Express and Love and Death, took on the task. The creators of the film “herded” monsters and plots from all the Toho studio films they could find. The result is “The Best Movie” in the Godzilla style. Here we have the battle between the dragon Manda (emphasis on the first syllable) and the ship Gotengo from the film “Atragon: The Flying Super Submarine,” and the cyborg Gigan from the film Godzilla vs. Gigan, and the monster Hedorah from the film Godzilla vs. Hedorah, and monsters that were once Godzilla's friends but have now become his enemies again - the ankylosaur Angilas, the pteranodon Rodan and the ancient god King Caesar, and the giant butterfly Mothra, who had long been Godzilla's enemy but this time became his friend, and Godzilla's beloved son Minilla, who, by the way, hasn't appeared on the big screen for quite some time, as well as Kamakuras, Kumongas, Ebiras, and the evil aliens Xylenes, who have once again begun their raid on our planet and... and Roland Emmerich's 1998 film, which finally clashed with the original Japanese Godzilla and within the first ten seconds of the encounter was lying face down in the ruins of the Sydney Opera House. And what kind of Godzilla movie would it be without a battle with the king of monsters' most evil enemy, Ghidorah? The film also parodies all kinds of Hollywood blockbusters, from Star Wars to Mission: Impossible.

This film has everything: gorgeous costumes, brilliant acting, superbly made costumes, special effects, delightful music... It has everything except a plot. But then, what should the last Godzilla film be like? Delusional. But personally, this delusion keeps me coming back to watch it again and again...
