Review 4K Movie

He killed the dog. Again.
And again, Guy Ritchie hits us on the spot. Once again, the people who have absorbed with milk the melody from the Soviet "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson" and do not accept any other private detective besides his interpretation by Livanov contradicts themselves with surprising enthusiasm and excitedly watches the play of shadows, light, slow flight of bullets and a private detective in a woman corset. Richie did the almost impossible - he did not abuse the good name of the world's most famous detective, he gave him even fresher charm and playfulness than in the first part. Right - everything you knew about the new Holmes can be safely multiplied by two.

As the main character correctly noted: he does a lot of things, even despite the main business of his career, and even life. Without closing his eyes, almost to the point of insanity, he is busy with a web of seemingly unrelated incidents that ultimately concentrate on one key figure. In the person of a worthy opponent, fate presents the detective with an acquaintance with Professor Moriarty. The more Holmes understands the essence of the matter, the more the blood grows cold. Neither more nor less - at stake is a turning point in the history of mankind, which can lead to millions of innocent victims, and only a fearless detective can stop the insidious Moriarty, enlisting the help of the ringed Watson, who again will not be able to lead a calm lifestyle.

To tell the truth, now the new Holmes no longer seems to be without Robert Downey Jr. It seems that the role was written exclusively for him. The story is akin to the situation with Jack Sparrow and Johnny Depp. Facial expressions, gestures, speaking, gait - the actor has such an organic connection with his role that it seems as if he secretly prepared for it all his life. Plus, his successful duet with Jude Law deserves the same praise. The naked eye can see how these two "sang" even outside the frame. We became friends thanks to the film and brought it all back to the tape.

Stephen Fry was pleasantly surprised, although he was not given a place to roam. The only criticism among the acting (as well as the character in general) can be caused by Noomi Rapace (gypsy). The lady in the film did not show anything except a serious expression on her face, and, perhaps, she could not. Her character is spelled out very badly. Honestly - as if superfluous.

Overall, the story turned out to be very exciting. I was pleased with the presence of ideas taken from the novel and their interpretation in a new way. All this was served under the sauce of 100% sound density from the talented Zimmer, amazing camera work paired with artists (which is only one scene in the forest) and, of course, sparkling humor.

In addition to the nuances with some seemingly superfluous characters, controversial staging of stunts and the same controversial nuances of the script, the film has no serious disadvantages at all. Shadow Play, if you please, is an explosive cocktail of what Jackie Chan, Harrison Ford, Johnny Depp and others have taught us in their best adventure films. Just add here a crazy drive and filming that they never dreamed of together, add a rethinking of the legend about the most famous detective, and, of course, the easily recognizable hooligan style of Guy Ritchie - you will get that two-hour pleasure that people have already received who have already watched the tape in cinemas.
