Story Movie
The hereditary policeman Andre Davis with the highest crime detection rates is under internal investigation, but, nevertheless, he is involved in the capture of two dangerous criminals. They committed a daring robbery in Manhattan and, leaving behind 7 dead policemen, went on the run. Davis has only one night to catch the killers, and the first thing he orders is to block all the exits from Manhattan, including 21 bridges.
Review 4K Movie
Do not be confused by the inscription on the poster of this film - “21 Bridge” is really released by the creators of “Game of Thrones” and “Avengers”. Only this information is only partially valid, because the producers of the picture were Anthony Russo (one of the directors of The Avengers), as well as Chadwick Bowzman, who played Black Panther, and directed the film Brian Kirk, who directed three episodes of the Games. In general, you can’t blame lies, but an unpleasant sediment can also remain.
But the poster is one thing. Another is the movie itself. A pair of screenwriters - Adam Mervis and Matthew Carnahan, who wrote 21 Bridge, tried to make it a classic film about honest and corrupt cops. Mervis cannot yet be credited with working with large projects, and Karnakhan can highlight an episode of his personal life - he was married to Helen Hunt, and so - for the most part he wrote scripts for TV shows (and Kirk mainly directed the series). In this regard, it could be assumed that the "21 Bridge" in its plot would be weak and nondescript. In fact, the film turned out to be quite intriguing and interesting.
Chadwick Bowzman, in addition to the production chair, also took the place of the protagonist - the detective killer of police detective Andre Davis. He is not used to arrest, he kills criminals and of course enjoys a certain fame among law enforcement officers. However, it was he who was called at night to the crime scene, where about a dozen cops were killed! Taking up the matter, Davis attacks the trail of killers, but eventually understands that the arrows are just an offshoot of the truth that he has yet to learn. He has only a few hours to find the killers - at night all the bridges leading to Manhattan, where they hide, were closed, and in the morning they will open for the awakening city ...
In fact, there is only talk about bridges in the film - there are no actions related to these gigantic constructions in the film and it seems that the creators simply searched for any name for their project. Although it turned out to be entertaining and informative - there is no arguing.
Returning to the scriptwriters, it is worth emphasizing that Melvis and Karnakhan tried to diversify the plot and saturate it with bright moments that strengthen the state of the thriller. A cop with a bad reputation, the death of several law enforcement officers, brutal killers who turned out to be pawns in the competitive game of drug dealers, corrupt cops and double agents. A good plot set for a criminal film about police officers was assembled in 21 Bridge, and the creators were clearly oriented towards a strong film like Attack on the 13th Section, 16 Quarters, and Negotiator.
Plus, in "21 Bridge" the creators returned to the main character - a black policeman, as was the case with Eddie Murphy in the trilogy "Beverly Hills Policeman" and "Metro", as well as with Wesley Snipes in the "Landing Zone", "Passenger" 57 ", or with Morgan Freeman, when he played the role of Alex Cross in" And the Spider Came "and in" Kissing Girls. "
The plot feature of “21 Bridges” is the presence of two characters (Taylor Kitsch and Stefan James), who initially can be considered the main characters (or rather antiheroes). Over time, they fade into the background, and the hero Bozeman comes to the fore, getting more screen time and turning into that hunter for police killers, as was described in the description.
Bozeman’s candidacy for the role of Detective Davis was so wrong for me. There is no decisiveness in his face inherent in an honest cop, and the actor plays a bit freshly, without special emotions and a twinkle in his eyes. Otherwise, the film is not bad, plus the appearance on the screen of Keith Davis, who gained fame thanks to “Something” by Carpenter, as well as the comedy “Men at Work”, and in recent years not so often appeared in films, was pleased.
However, watch you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
Enjoy watching.
