Days of Thunder is the second collaboration of the then-novice director Tony Scott and by then very popular actor Tom Cruise. And if in their first joint work called “Top Gun” it was about a pilot who strives to become the best, then in this film it is about a rider who strives to become the best. Parallels in storylines are evident, except that the setting is different.

Nevertheless, this in no way detracts from the advantages of the tape: the spirit of primacy, the desire for competition, dedication, overcoming the many obstacles to your dream - this film is about these things. About how it is sometimes difficult for a young man with the ambition of a young man, but without the wisdom of an older man. The wisdom of the elder, by the way, is played by eminent actor Robert Duvall. They did not interfere with their joint tandem and combining the talent of the actress and the appearance of the model Nicole Kidman, whose role in this film was her debut in Hollywood.

Filming of the races was shot very professionally and extremely realistically, as if you were watching a real story about races. Already in something, but in realism, Tony Scott always succeeded. Great music perfectly complements the visuals and makes it more impressive.

In general, Days of Thunder is just a solid sports drama about riders. She will not go down or go down in the history of cinema, and she doesn’t stand out among other similar works. But the creators of this film certainly should not be ashamed.
