End of the seventies. Australia. An unknown director decides to make a film about the near (in every sense of the word) future ruled by anarchy. But there is no money! But he does not stop, but goes to the end! He takes on the main role of a 'no-name' who will not ask for a lot of money for participating in the film. And it rushed. Nature (local roads like in Texas, rusty cars and rusty life all around ...) are nearby, there is no need to invent or build anything.

No matter how trite, but this is how the Legend began. Again, an unknown director who is full of ambitions to make a film; an actor destined to become a cult; and, finally, a complete lack of money! How many masterpieces started like this? That's right - a million !!!

Miller directed the film that changed cinema forever. Well, or at least the world of militants for sure. But when someone remembers the expression 'Mad Max', then the second part comes to mind, which has become more cult. But more about her later.

Young Gibson (who's not yet claiming the title of 'Bachelor of Historical Films' a-ha-ha) plays young Max Rokatansky, a cop who can't keep track of a fast-paced world. He understands that everything is rolling into tar-tarars. Soon the society will cease to exist, because the deserted Australia is practically captured by bandits. 'The plastic world has won.'

I understand that all people expect post-apocalypse films about Max, bandits dressed in leather and other elements of the second part ... But we have a film about the BEGINNING of a global catastrophe. Through the disintegration of Max as a 'law enforcement officer' we see the disintegration of the world. Yes, this is not shown as spectacularly as in Bay's blockbusters, but atomic explosions are not needed here! The picture only benefits from the fact that it is 'intimate' and not very large-scale. Although, for its time and budget (400 thousand dollars. Study, comrade Bay !!!) the film is very Cool! Intense chases are where the real power of action is, not the three-hour 'Hasbro' toy commercial!

The film deals with the fears of people of that time, namely the fear of a nuclear war. It's no secret that at that time relations between the USA and the USSR were, so to speak, tense ... People were afraid of repeating the plot of the Revelation of Ion the Theologian, that is, the Book of the Apocalypse. Brrr, goosebumps! It's good that now this topic has subsided in the minds of people ... Although many new fears have appeared in the world!

The music in the film is beyond praise. The perfect sound for an action movie!

The actors did an excellent job! Everyone played cool. All attention, of course, is on Mel, but of course! But, this is natural and forgivable, the main role is the same ... By the way, one of the villains of the first part will appear in The Road of Fury in 2015. George took it off too! The old man is in his seventh decade, and he does not even think to stop! Well done keep it up! We are waiting for a solo album about Furizon!

VERDICT: Classics of world cinema. The film that changed the action genre and popularized another genre is post-apocalypse. The film that opened the world to the genius actor - Mel Gibson; and the eminent director George Miller. The film, which to this day, forty years later, amazes with its action, cruelty and cool plot. You can love 'Warrior of the Road' (I love him with you, this is a brilliant masterpiece. However, about it later.), But you should not forget the first part!

And in the end, Mad Max answers the question - "Why do I love 80s action movies so much?" Because they are cool, uncompromising, bloody and cruel. We humans of the 12+ blockbusters and Marvel movies (I love them, take your tomatoes away!) Don't get it ...
