Tom Campbell runs into a police box to report a theft, but finds himself in the TARDIS, a time-traveling ship. Together with its master, Doctor Who, they travel to the year 2150. The future turns out to be sad, as the planet is overrun by Daleks who are destroying humans and turning them into an army of cyborgs.

Review 4K Movie

The new movie is the new adventures of the Doctor. This time he and his company are stranded on the TARDIS as far back as 2150, where the Earth is partially destroyed and his old enemies, the Daleks, have become masters of the planet. For their purposes - to capture or suppress a rebellion - they use zombified humans, who have found heroes in no time. Now the Doctor and his company will unwittingly have to stand up for the rebels and fight the evil aliens.

The second film, also based on the popular Doctor Who series, looks much darker than the first film. Surprisingly, here the authors stopped creating humorous moments (although there are some) and tried to convert the eponymous series of the Doctor to the wide screen. And it turned out quite decent.

It is also gratifying that the second film is much more dynamically moving, as a consequence of which you do not notice the time spent on it. The Daleks are still interesting, colorful villains who are menacing and mocking, as if they were villains in a sitcom. The atmosphere is perfect. The ruined world, the mutilated rebels, tired of the constant war, ready to betray and save anyone to save their own lives. At times it is even amazing how the Doctor is incredibly lucky even in the most extreme situations.

As for the Doctor, his character played by Cushing was still interesting, but unfortunately lost some of the grip of his image from the first film. At times it even felt like Peter was just moving according to the script and not bringing anything new to his character. He's still interesting to watch, but unfortunately, because the creators took away his comicality, the Doctor became 'too furnished'. But we must admit - Cushing played perfectly.

Also annoying was the upbeat music in the moments when the Daleks were mercilessly killing ordinary people. It looked very inappropriate.

'Invasion of the Daleks on Earth' - better than the first part in terms of atmosphere and dynamism, but otherwise slightly inferior to the original. Though if you think about it that way, both films are an example of a family sci-fi movie, which is nice to spend one or two evenings watching. It's a shame that this is where the experiments in bringing the series to the wide screen stopped.
