Once upon a time, there was a girl who lost her words and feelings because she decided that words and feelings hurt. Once upon a time, there was a boy who lost his music and desires because he decided that music and desires destroy. There was a girl who lost the boy without music because she was afraid to say anything to him and didn't dare to help. There was a boy who told everyone what to do but didn't listen to anyone. And so these four come together, united by a common task, but otherwise seemingly having nothing in common.

But all four main characters have similar problems—they need to “break the shell” under which they hide from the outside world, they need to stop being afraid of “getting hurt,” open themselves up to the world, and start noticing those around them.

The joint task brings them closer together, and the girl without words awakens in the boy without music the desire to help, because he once failed to help the girl without courage to say the right words. And he decides to help the girl without words express herself through music. The girl without words feels like she has met her prince. By helping her, he finds his desires and music, and she finds words and feelings. The girl without courage decides to help them both by finding courage within herself. The guy without hearing learns to notice those around him, not only by speaking, but also by listening. Together they find a common cause that unites and changes them. By helping others, they help themselves.

Mutual feelings flare up and become entangled in a complicated web. The girl without words falls in love with the boy without music, the boy without music seems to reciprocate her feelings, the girl without courage wants him back, and the boy without hearing wants to win over the girl without courage. But are these feelings genuine? Perhaps music will help the four of them untangle this knot and figure out what is fake and what is real.
This is such a tangled, sad fairy tale. Very melodramatic and psychological. I would say excessively so. The guy without music and the girl without courage are too wise for teenagers. And this anime is not for teenagers at all. And it's not about teenagers. With many flaws and exaggerations, but surprisingly fascinating and, perhaps, the right word would be “correct.” A wonderful work.
