Story Movie

The Truman Show 4K 1998 Ultra HD 2160p
Imagine that you suddenly begin to realize that everything around you is a set, and people are actors pretending to be what they seem to be. Your whole world turns out to be a big TV show where you play the main role without even realizing it. Your whole life is the result of the work of the author of a TV show that the whole planet has been watching for thirty years, starting from the moment you were born.

In such a situation was Truman, the main character of the picture. Will he continue to live in a safe world, where, as he now knows, he has almost no freedom of choice, or will he leave the "game" and become the master of his own fate, where a girl not planned by the script is waiting for him?

Review 4K Movie

After watching the movie "Into the Wild" about half a year ago, I got for myself a completely new canon of the drama genre. It was a movie of such a strong impact that I wanted to change something in myself, to become at least a little better. Absolutely everyone could find there a resemblance to the main character. And it was magnificent, attractive and touching. And now it's The Truman Show and I feel the same way again.

10,909 days on the air.

"The Truman Show" is all lies, lies and deceit. It's fake sun, sea, weather, people, in a word - absolutely everything around. An artificial but perfect world, albeit limited to the confines of the island city. And in this horrible for any sane person spins one real person. What's he like? Nothing. A gray, humdrum life, occasionally diluted by petty human joys. He doesn't know any other life. He's wanted to go to Fiji for a long time, but he's still here. He lives in a place where he knows everything. It's much easier to accept what's simple than to seek out the new but more complicated. He's Truman.

Is he human? Or the star of a big show?
Is he living? Or is he just following a prescribed script?
Is he free? Or does he live in a cage?

And there's a huge mass of people watching all of this all the time. And they're all watching Truman 24/7. Only one person, Natascha McElhone's character throughout the movie truly believes in him, giving him hope for the best.

And the others... Can we say they love him? Hardly. What is it that people are so fascinated by? They just see Truman in themselves and are drawn to the spectacle, that's our nature. People are strange creatures, by the way. A fascination on the verge of fanaticism. You've never noticed that about yourself? Never been so involved that you sometimes forget about things that are more important?

And all these strings are pulled by a big, greedy machine that is driven by ratings and profit. It exploits human beings, making money out of life. It's that money again... Is there nowhere on planet Earth without it?

Jim Carrey and Jim Carrey again. His best role yet. Even if not in his traditional genre. The character is so vivid that you experience the whole movie in the same breath as him. It's frustrating to watch him try to escape the small town, knowing it's all in vain. You rejoice when he goes into the black passage behind the painted skies.....

Many more details deserve enthusiastic words. These are the acting of the other actors; the direction, woven from Truman's life and the rest of the world; the interesting shooting as if from the camera lens; the delightfully beautiful final scene. But most importantly, it's the idea.

- Who are you?
- I am the creator of a television show that gives hope, joy and inspiration to millions.
- Then who am I?

I couldn't touch on everything, but this is the kind of movie that just about leaves the ground for a lot of speculation. The architect Antonio Guadi said, "A true masterpiece must be unfinished." And let each of you figure out the rest of it.
