Story Movie

A merry band of "jokers" is busy traveling from city to city and testing computer security systems for the possibility of "hacking", and not always with the permission of the owners of these systems. They are true virtuosos of programming, their ingenuity in how to deceive the defense and steal information, knows no bounds. But things take a serious turn when two government agents start blackmailing them to force them to participate in some covert operations.

Review 4K Movie

I fell in love with Robert Redford not because he is a unique, sophisticated actor and a very intelligent director. Not because he is a man of rare beauty and charm. But for the fact that his work makes up my world. The spirit of almost everything this man does, without exception, makes me feel more acutely that I belong to this world, because there are things that beat in unison with my heart. And most of those things are Robert Redford's work. It's really hard to name the commonalities in his movies, the things I'm always looking for in art and in life, because it's ... personal. And it slips away so often. It's a sea of kindness, it's an often idealized hero who almost never sticks out of the piece, is not more important than the film as a whole. It's as if the actor carries his movie not so much with the character he plays, but with an idea that can make the world a brighter place. These are moments in the plot, such as dedication, self-sacrifice - events and feelings that will always make me weep, laugh, reevaluate myself and the world around me. This is a very unusual actor, it's always as if he's above the movie, not in front of it.

And all these words perfectly fit the movie “Sneakers”, one of the first I saw from Robert. It's weird, isn't it? Such pathetic words, and in a preface not to a review of a serious dramatic work, but to a review of a light intriguing movie from an affair series. It can be easily compared to “Ocean's 11” (as many faces on the cover of the poster), only the Sneakers gang is much closer to me than Danny's buddies, and now I will try to explain why.

Actually such a strange word - Sneakers - was invented by the translator Alexey Mikhalev. It denotes people who quietly penetrate where they should not be. The heroes of the movie make a living by checking the security systems of banks for strength for an agreed fee. But one day everything changes abruptly... they have to penetrate into a very unusual place with a rather risky goal.

This movie is dear to me not only for its fascinating plot, hypnotizing to the stunning music of Jams Horner. In addition to the intricacies of intrigue, gunshots and chases, this movie has an idea that makes it smarter, warmer and deeper. It's no accident that all of these faces are squeezed onto the cover. They're all in charge here, all of them, not just Robert Redford's character Marty. Marty is rather the face of the company, and someone who has brought trouble on the company's head, but not a leader with a group of employees in his charge.

And this whole movie, all of its relish and uniqueness is just in the form of King Arthur's Round Table. Everyone is equal, and the king has no more say than anyone at the table. And that's the idea behind the fairy tale “Repka,” in which even without the most insignificant participant, the matter is not complete. It is so intoxicating to observe the connectedness of the team - everyone without all the others has only one sense organ and will not be able to take a step forward. And it is shown tastefully - familiarity in the beginning, acceleration in the middle and explosive climax at the end, when the inevitable tragedy would have happened, if the team had not had this fantastic cohesion....

And the importance of each character is not just in the job they do, its part of the whole. That importance is shown through the brilliance of these people. All of this is both spelled out in the script and played by the actors. As a viewer, I was surprised to realize that I remembered the whole gang. Not only their names, movements, gestures, quirks, but also their wishes for Aladdin's magic lamp.

In addition, there is as much humor as there is kindness in the film. And each time this humor is revealed in a new way. As many times as I laughed the last time I watched Sneakers, I haven't laughed in a very long time. All those movements of Redford's eyebrows, barely perceptible, all those pauses and such vital absurdities, and you want to savor them time after time.
