Gabriel, a low-ranking angel, begins to help Arju, a handyman. One day, a mobile job app leads the freelancer to venture capitalist Jeff, who hires him as his personal assistant for a week. However, the new assistant soon annoys Jeff, who decides to fire him.

The angel decides to switch Arju and Jeff's lives, and now the investor has to earn a living doing odd jobs, while the handyman finds himself living in luxury for the first time.

It's not that we know Aziz Ansari so well that we can name all his cool projects with our eyes closed, counting on the fingers of one hand. But his face is quite recognizable, and if we suddenly see him in a frame, we will undoubtedly name the American comedian and stand-up artist of Indian origin. So the man went on and on, and suddenly decided it was time. Yes, like many actors and actresses, he was captivated by the idea of making his directorial debut. Even with stars. Did it work out? We think it turned out fine. Of course, it's not the film of the year or anything, but it's not the worst piece of trash of the century either. It's an interesting story.
Interesting, but far from new, folks. Thanks to an incredible and fantastic turn of events, the two main characters switch places, after which the former loser in life begins to enjoy wealth, while the former investor finds himself in a shocking race for survival for the poor. It seemed that Keanu Reeves would be insignificant between the two of them (the poster does not deceive, he played the archangel), but he becomes the third central character. Get a comedy of situations, laugh and sometimes feel sad when the characters talk about something important and philosophical. Nothing shocking or odious, you know.
Aziza Ansari deserves praise for avoiding the typical sentimental notes, because when filmmakers try to make another tearjerker about the hard lives of losers, there are so many clichés that you might as well be walking through a minefield. First, Aziz Ansari's character, then the typical Seth Rogen character, go through some really tough days. They have problems with work, their car is in the impound lot, and they don't even have money for housing. Instead of glorifying proud poverty, the audience is clearly shown that any modern inhabitant of planet Earth would gladly trade places with some millionaire for the sake of hedonism.

And no matter how wonderful wealth may be, the cool screenwriter-director does not forget to emphasize that the rich are far from being enlightened demigods who do not know how to drive and cannot admire specific car models, but still buy them for their garage; they do cold water therapy because someone said it was useful; and think not about social significance, but about parties with expensive alcohol. It's impossible to watch without smiling or even laughing. Aziz Ansari is not one for moralizing, so he shows everything without hypocrisy or pretension. Keanu Reeves is once again entertaining from the heart. He is the cutest archangel of the year!

With his little wings behind his back and his sad face, he can't help but catch your eye. A few more dimwits, because this Gabriel will be responsible for something very delicate that will move the plot in a new direction. You'll see for yourself. So while the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, viewers have a chance to see something simple but tasteful about these two extremes. Poverty is a vice, not something to be proud of. And what about wealth? Well, it's when it's raining outside, and it's better to be sad in a cool car than on a bicycle. It's better to know less about the film in order to watch it.
The ending, of course, slides into a predictable lagoon, when each of the characters finally realizes something meaningful and important. Perhaps if the director-screenwriter hadn't come up with the idea of the archangel Gabriel with the body and face of Keanu Reeves, his debut would have been completely boring and forgettable. As it is, the love line with Keke Palmer is not particularly striking, the story does not reveal or conclude any new truths, and it does not touch the viewer emotionally. Without unnecessary fanfare, the famous stand-up comedian shared his vision. And he did not forget to give special thanks to such names as Soderbergh, Charlie Kaufman, Judd Apatow, Damon Lindelof, and Scott Rudin.
