Story Movie

A group of young filmmakers threw away their film school textbooks and decided to shoot their first low-budget film on their own. They will face many obstacles along the way, including not only a lack of funds, but also a serial killer who turns out to be a sex maniac.

Review 4K Movie

Terror Firmer is perhaps Troma's most violent and nauseating film. It is a parody of trashy horror movies, featuring a severed leg being beaten, pickled limbs in jars, flying entrails, corpses oozing fake blood, hermaphrodites, and their parents...

A real paradise for any Troma fan... I must say that I am not very familiar with the work of Lloyd Kaufman (the creative inspiration and chief director of this studio) - I have seen about five of his films. Nevertheless, I liked them all very much. Terror correctly said about Lloyd something like: “This man has a good feel for cinema and refined taste, but he doesn't want to deceive anyone. That's why all his films are, so to speak, ‘straightforward’... ”Let's Make Some Art!" is the slogan of Terror. Lloyd makes this very “art” (and a little bit of “house”), so his films are obviously not for everyone.

My favorite film by this director is Chicken Zombie Attack, where everything is perfect and there are practically no downsides, but I also liked Terror. I'll start by saying that the film is very watchable and I personally found it interesting to watch. I remember recommending Toxic Avenger to a friend who wanted to watch something lighthearted. He didn't like it and turned it off after ten minutes. That's when I realized that everyone has their own idea of what constitutes lighthearted cinema.

But I can't call Terror Firmer light. First, it's a Troma film... and it's about Troma. Second, the film (yes, “canvas”) is full of violence and limbs torn off along with the rest of the flesh.

Thirdly, it's a film in which anything can happen. The hero can be killed with a pair of scissors to the temple, and five minutes later he'll be alive and well, even better than before. Positive characters become negative at the director's command, and the main killer is...

No, to find out, you'll have to watch this wonderful movie yourself.

‘Terror Firmer’ is far from a stupid movie and is very angry towards Hollywood. In Hollywood, a script like ‘Terror’ wouldn't even be read, citing pornography.

But Lloyd went ahead and made this film - for three pennies, on the simplest video camera (judging by the quality of the picture), but with cool special effects, editing, and black humor. By the way, in addition to Lloyd and the regular “Troman” actors, the film also features Eli Roth and Nick Zedd

(director of independent underground cinema) also appear in the film. They may not be big names, but they are celebrities (especially Roth). ‘Terror Firmer’ is a mixture of ‘Chicken Zombies’ and ‘Cecil B. Demented’, and this film most fully reflects the essence of ‘Troma’.

The essence is not to be afraid (although what is there to be afraid of—they shot it themselves and showed it to whoever wanted to see it), to experiment, to mix truly worthwhile scenes with outright crap, to go against all the rules of cinema, and to develop your own cinematic language as much as possible. And then there are four unspoken rules of Troma, which you will learn about by watching Terror Firmer.
