But just seconds before tying the knot with her beloved in front of a crowd of fans, Kat learns that he has cheated on her. Marry Me is definitely not the kind of romantic comedy that will surprise you with an unusual plot or an unpredictable ending. Quite the opposite, in fact—the plot is quite hackneyed, and the ending is banal. This would seem to be a reason to write a neutral rather than a positive review, but...

But, to be honest, I don't want to criticize the film for such things. Because in the end, we still get a boost of positivity and faith that true love can be found even when you're “a little” over 30. From the very beginning, the characters exude warmth and kindness. Even though they are very different, they look cute together and immediately find themselves on the same wavelength. Somehow, it all seems a little vanilla, but how we sometimes miss such films and such stories! About beautiful love, without awkward jokes, vulgarity, and farce. The musical accompaniment was also very pleasing. I'm not a fan of J.Lo at all (before watching the film, I didn't even know she would be singing in it), but I have to admit that the songs fit organically into the story and were pleasant to listen to. Not to mention that it would be great if everyone looked so good at 50+.

The only obvious downside is that it's not entirely clear why the popular and ambitious Kat decided to turn her attention to such an “unattractive” suitor as Charlie. Was she tired of noisy parties and her social circle? Was she annoyed by the world of social media? Did she miss having real people around her who weren't chasing popularity? One of the answers seems correct, but that's just my guess. The director simply didn't think it necessary to explain this point.
