The giant Pink Panther diamond, given to Dale's daughter by an Indian sheikh, will be used as bait to lure the thief. As he sets his cunning trap, the policeman has no idea that he himself will fall into it, because his wife's lover is the very phantom he has been trying unsuccessfully to catch.

An excellent detective comedy! The ironic Inspector Jacques Clouseau, played by the brilliant Peter Sellers, is much funnier than Steve Martin in the remake.

Clouseau must catch the Phantom Thief. The huge Pink Panther diamond, belonging to an Indian princess, becomes bait to catch the thief. Clouseau has no idea that his wife is in cahoots with the Phantom. The detective does everything he can to catch the criminal and gets into all sorts of trouble, but always remains unperturbed.

The interesting plot keeps you glued to the screen, which is something not all comedies can boast. Good soundtrack: Henry Mancini's music is magnificent!
