Johnny Hooker is a street thief and crook. I learned to carry tight wallets from pompous and gaping passers-by as a child. Together with their dark-skinned partner, they handled several small businesses in the city. During one of these operations, Johnny and his friend, without knowing it, cheated the courier of the head of the Chicago mafia, extracting a very tidy sum from him. After this incident, the guys were hunted not only by the police, but also by gangsters-thugs. Johnny was lucky they didn't get to him first, but his friend was thrown from the roof of a high-rise building. Now Johnny wants only one thing - revenge. Since he does not know how to kill, you will have to teach the villain a lesson in another way - to throw him in a big way, turning a grandiose scam. And in this Johnny can only be helped by one person ...

The film by George Roy Hill is a captivating comedy novel with a touch of crime. He talks about two great crooks who brazenly cheated their common enemy, in a very cunning way, throwing him two million dollars. Moreover, each of them did it solely for their own reasons. One - out of a sense of revenge, the other for the sake of courage and a test of professional skill. The scam itself, as well as its preparation, is impossible to look at without awe, interest and curiosity. The way the guys performed this difficult operation deserves sincere admiration and respect.

Now, when you watch this film, saturated with the atmosphere of the 30s of the twentieth century, a nagging nagging in the spirit of 'so-already-no-longer-filmed' flies through my head. In this case, it is more relevant than ever. The film is capable of causing a storm of emotions that cannot be described in words.

Robert Redford is known to be quite skeptical about the 'Scam'. He even gave an official refusal to participate in the film, but then, thank God, changed his mind. The film would have been very different without him. His character gave the viewer an unforgettable experience, and Robert's performance won a high award - an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.

I will forever remember Paul Newman as the cleverest cheat and the best swindler of all time. In 'Scam' he liked his game the most. Humor, facial expressions, gestures ... Perfected, if not perfect, then very close to it. Bravo!

Robert Shaw - the stone and cold look of his character terrified the entire environment. Even his subordinates were afraid of him. This is how a real villain should be. It is a pity that this great Actor is no longer alive, and we will never be able to enjoy his performance again. George Roy Hill, the director of the film, also passed away, leaving the viewer with the unsurpassed fruits of his work. It may sound pretentious, but with their departure the cinema has noticeably faded. They are no more, but there is still 'Scam', which you can watch millions of times!
