1950-е. Jack and Alice live in a perfect corporate town made up entirely of designer houses. While the men work on a secret Victory project, their wives do chores, ballet and shopping - all to please their husbands. But as time passes, Alice begins to suspect that the company Jack works for is hiding terrible secrets.

I don't agree with all the critics' reviews, the movie is really not bad, a kind of classic American blockbuster, and if you judge it from this perspective, it is very good! Great filming, a stellar cast (kudos to Florence Pugh - she is undoubtedly beautiful), costumes and sets - everything in this movie speaks for itself. As a designer and artist, I enjoyed watching it, the film is indeed very beautiful, aesthetic, tense and frightening at times. At least for the sake of the cast, it's definitely worth watching.

But the thing is that I've read the original script which was leaked online a long time ago and here is a story about how to turn an original film about feminism, sexism and women's experiences into a picture 'for everyone'. The general audience clearly wouldn't like watching a woman brutally avenging a man for her suffering, for her imprisonment in an ideal male world, and that's not even a metaphor. I will say this: the movie was good, BUT the original script was as much as three times better! The potential is lost.

Just so you understand, in the original script Harry Styles' character was a total anti-hero, he was sexist and couldn't stand that his wife had fallen out of love with him, that she was above him in her career, that she was more successful, for that he locks her in 'Project Victory', the perfect world for men and wants to make her have a baby with him.

The movie ends up showing us a great love story between Jack and Alice, supposedly he locks her in their world for her own sake, supposedly he loves her, etc. There was not even a hint of his sexism. He was exonerated. And that's sad. I missed the aggressiveness, the radicalism, the spectacle, and the revenge.
