Getting to know the character.

Living room. The room is a mess. A very fat man is sitting on the sofa. Due to the poor light and the size of the figure, it is difficult to understand his gender. A giant mass of sweaty fat. He's watching gay porn and masturbating, or rather trying to do so, trying to get to his privates, working his hand all the way down through all his folds of his huge belly. It's a man. His name is Charlie. He's a professor who teaches online college writing courses.

How's that? It's gross, right? Can you imagine the stench in there? He stinks. He's a very unpleasant man. And his story is even more disgusting. He left his wife and eight-year-old daughter to fall in love with a student. That's not all, but I don't want to know the rest. The beginning of his story is so disgusting that you don't care about the end.

However, after looking into his eyes, hearing his infectious and lively laugh, you will feel sorry for him. And listening to what he has to say you will believe in his sincerity and desire to make things right. What he might still have time for....

Brendan Fraser, as well as the whole movie, deserves the applause he received at the Venice Film Festival.

Perhaps the picture is weak with its banal story. However, like the object of allusion in the movie, misunderstood by contemporaries. However, the way the story is told and shown and the way 'Moby' is woven into it.... It is all heartwarming.
