Day after day, indulging in sad musings, I wandered through the city streets, slightly stricken with a cold, not knowing what and how to cheer myself up. And then I see the movie 'The Intern' in the posters of local cinemas. Immediately the following thoughts appear in my head:

1. Directed by Nancy Meyers - already good;

2. Starring Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway - even better!

3. the genre is comedy - gotta go!

The combination of these three people in the movie description definitely bodes well for something, if not great, at least good. DeNiro, who previously always embodied on-screen personalities, as a rule, cruel in this movie performed the role of the kindest soul of an old man, who is in the burden of sitting on the pension without work. It is very interesting to see how cold and calculating Ace from 'Casino', or the creature created by Frankenstein, now changes sternly frowning eyebrows to a kind smile and often blinking eyelids.

Anne Hathaway, very memorable to me for her role as an independent catwoman, is now an ordinary director of an online store, looking outwardly like a self-sufficient modern businesswoman, but in her heart - a delicate and vulnerable girl who loves her daughter and husband very much.

And now these two wonderful actors and no less wonderful images appear on one screen and show us a light, kind, very funny story of friendship between two colleagues, each of whom changed the life of the other for the better.

In general, the plot of the movie is quite simple. But that's what a real movie is, to make a great thing out of simplicity. And what is needed to achieve this goal?

Directing and screenplay. Nancy Meyers has been making movies in this genre for a long time. Just think of 'What Women Want.' What to say, the director found her niche in the movie and successfully does her job. She manages to create a warm family atmosphere on the screen, with a lot of interesting dialogues, good and funny jokes, well-designed main and secondary characters.

Operator's work. This is a movie, which does not require any incredible filming tricks, complex angles, fast camera passes and other things. No. Here you have to shoot in such a way that the viewer is not in a movie hall, but together with the characters in the building of an old factory for printing telephone directories. And it seems to me that it is sometimes much more difficult to shoot this way than the way high-budget blockbusters are shot.

Music. Personally, this part of the movie has always been important to me. Ever since I saw movies like 'The Rock', 'Broken Arrow' and 'The Professional'. Of course this is a different genre altogether, but for me these movies are some of my favorites in terms of having a great soundtrack. Here the movie is very touching and soulful, so the music in it is the same: calm, not tense, well chosen, as it is necessary. For this I am very grateful to Theodore Shapiro.

And of course we should not forget about the secondary characters. Films of this genre always have them, and it's great. These are just the characters that make the movie funny and so dear to the heart.

A wonderful movie that will lift your spirits, allow you to relax and unwind after a hard day's work. A movie that shows us simple human values, and what people are willing to do for them. Robert DeNiro's character is a vivid example of what a real man should be, Anne Hathaway's character is what a real woman should be.
