Story Movie

An old and lonely scientist created a human being. But he did not finish it in time and died. The young man he created lacks hands - instead he has something like scissors - and is forced to live all alone in an abandoned house. One day he is discovered by a female traveling salesman and takes him to live with her. In his new home, Edward tries to socialize - making friends with his new "mother's" young son and her beautiful daughter.

When I watch Tim Burton's latest films, I wonder how I ever managed to flatter this guy. Watching a film like Edward gives me the answer every time. No shot can be dismissed, no effect is too much. The play of contrasts between universes and the restraint of the ensemble, combined with the quality of Danny Elfman's score, make me never tire of such a spectacle. For me, this film is simply a great masterpiece.

A work that exudes poetry and emotion. Johnny Depp, so young at the time, perfectly portrays a man with scissors in his hands: innocent, shy, dexterous, and tormented to such an extent that just seeing his face made me want to cry. The viewer quickly gives way to the encounter between a colorful neighborhood full of unbearable old gossip and an eternally unfinished creation with terrifying chisel hands, but overflowing with charisma and sensitivity. Here he is, the genius of Tim Burton, as we haven't seen him in a long time, with an amusing film painted in magnificent black.
