One of my favorite films. So many important topics, so many amazing phrases - the film can literally be "disassembled" into quotes.

Initially, Steven Spielberg was supposed to take the director's chair, but in the end the place passed to my beloved Tim Burton, which I am extremely happy about. Burton, as usual, made me happy - he managed to shoot a very kind and, I'm not afraid of this word, life-affirming story, but at the same time did not lose his own style (just remember the story with the eye of the old witch). There are a lot of memorable scenes in the film - the birth of a baby, a field with daffodils, stopping time, "robbing" a bank ...

Tim Burton began filming shortly after the death of his father, with whom he had a rather difficult relationship. Maybe that's why the topic of generational conflict has turned out to be so lively and real.

The film tells the story of Edward Bloom, retold by his son. It is difficult to understand where the truth is and where the fiction is in these stories, but one thing cannot be denied - this character cannot be called ordinary in any way. Diligence, perseverance, decency, courage - all this is about him. The path of life is thorny, in order to achieve something, you need to make every effort.

The harder the test, the greater the reward.

But the film is not only about the aspirations of the protagonist - it is about love. True love, for the sake of which you can do anything - even work for three years in the circus in the most terrible jobs, just to find out the name of your beloved.

They say that when you meet your betrothed, time stops, and it's true. But everyone misses that then it starts up at full speed, making up for lost time.

The film is also about friendship - about the fact that on the way of a good person there will always be people who are ready to help him out in difficult times.

That night, I realized that oftentimes those who are perceived to be evil and dangerous are simply lonely and lacking in pleasant companionship.

The film is called Big Fish, and this phrase is often used in it. One of the stories told by Edward involves a fish and a wedding ring. For me, Edward himself is a big fish. He is too assertive and ambitious to live in a small town. Even when he started a family, he could not sit in one place - he was constantly on the road, always striving for something more.

You are a big fish in a shallow stream, but there is an ocean, and you will drown in it.

Every time I roar like the first time listening to the latest story of Edward Bloom's life. But in the end I understand that this is how it should be. The ending shows that Ed was not an unprincipled liar and naive dreamer, no. He just saw the world in a completely different way - kind, bright, open, not devoid of enchanting magic and magic. And Edward was just trying to help other people, especially his son, to see the world as he sees it himself.

I recommend watching to everyone who loves movies with meaning. There are no unnecessary scenes here, so you need to look carefully, without being distracted. Don't you understand? Don't worry - just go back to the movie after a few years. After all, the same thing at different ages is seen in different ways.
