The Last Black Man in San Francisco 4K 2019 Ultra HD 2160p
Jimmy lives in San Francisco and is obsessed with reclaiming the elegant Victorian mansion that, according to family legend, was once built by his grandfather. Now an elderly white couple lives in the mansion. When they are not at home, Jimmy pays a visit to paint the window frames or water the flowers. The owners are naturally unhappy.

Review 4K Movie

The uglier the society, the more people unconsciously accept the phrase "to live with wolves - howl like a wolf" as a life credo, the more beautiful individual Personalities look against this background. Beautifully does not mean 'expensively dressed' or 'eloquent', beautifully means worthily, honestly, calmly passing through his life experience, not trying to fight everyone around in the heat of hatred, but also not breaking under the weight of difficulties. This film tells the story of the life of several people living in geographical proximity to each other, but in different universes with thoughts.

PLOT

The history of the film impresses with its simplicity. Every year there are fewer and fewer original scenarios, and it is all the more surprising to observe that to create a movie that is very powerful in terms of an ideological message, you can take such an 'ordinary' story, albeit a little distant to us. The obvious non-commercial orientation of cinema is immediately striking: many aspects of social interaction are shown from positions that are far from the generally accepted trends of modern cinema. This does not make the film unnecessarily niche, but it allows you to use a lot of unfinished script tricks.

On the one hand, the tape quickly makes it clear that it will not oppose the heroes on the basis of race. On the other hand, then immediately comes the understanding that the film does not in any way call for anything, does not propagandize anything. There is no black and white morality in it (no matter how ambiguous it sounds in this context). There is only a set of thoughts, hopes, experiences and a chain of events around the main characters, which are shared with the viewer without placing plus and minus signs.

VISUAL

From the first shots, it becomes clear that this is the strong point of the film. The entire visual range emphasizes the extremely intimate atmosphere of the tape. Subdued lighting of interiors, an abundance of evening shots, a richness of halftones, as well as a very skillful accentuation of shooting objects, coupled with a 'mathematical' frame construction, create some incredible magic. Sometimes it would even seem superfluous: so in the scene with the realtor it was a surprise that the situation around did not cause a seemingly appropriate antipathy. But this is understandable - the task of the Authors is to transfer the focus from the scene to its participants. Separately, I would like to note that the cinema is very rich in beautiful freeze frames, and each of them will not be an abstract meaningless dummy.

SOUND

There could be no overestimated expectations about the sound picture in such a movie. At the same time, absolutely everything: from the sound of the heroes' voices to the creaks of the stairs in the House - clearly and harmoniously worked for the benefit of the main idea and atmosphere of the tape. Sometimes there was a feeling that on this side of the screen one could hear the 'dust movement' in the air, and during the scene where the characters, having given free rein to themselves, began to scream - they wanted to scream with them - this was the effect of presence. At the same time, there is no point in claiming that something revolutionary has been demonstrated in terms of sound.

SOUNDTRACK

The secret trump card of the film, which is gaining strength from the beginning to the end of the tape, at one of the climaxes of which, together with the events on the screen, causes catharsis in the viewer. Very nice and appropriate ambient and one of the best renditions of 'the most famous song about San Francisco'. A dynamic beginning, appropriate inserts, sustained general style. The feeling of an 'old school' approach to writing musical accompaniment never left me. Musically, this is definitely one of the main discoveries of the year!

CASTING AND ACTING WORK

The casting is very appropriate. It was nice to see completely unfamiliar leading actors, but for a while there was anxiety about whether they could handle it. The scenes in the film were sometimes so filled with emotional intensity that even, 'trusting' the actors, there were certain fears. Fortunately, there is a victory here too - the simplicity of the game does not look like 'underplaying', and at the climax the craving for empathy for the main characters does not let go.

Often a certain theatricality can be traced in the dialogues, but in this case it fully presupposes a scenario. What can I say? .. It is not often now that you come across a phenomenon when 'joy' is just joy, and 'care' is just care. This movie both pleasantly surprised and touched me. Danny Glover's appearance in the action only enhanced the effect.

General impression

I did not follow the production of this film and could not expect anything from it. I stumbled upon a 'dramatic' variation of the song 'San Francisco' and wondered where it came from and why it sounded like that. I saw frames from the film and the verified mathematics of their construction, so beloved by me and Wes Anderson, and immediately decided that the movie was worth watching. And later I was glad for every minute spent.

I definitely recommend this movie for viewing and put it on
