Jack is a sound engineer at a movie studio that makes second-rate horror movies. One day, dubbing another movie, he hears strange noises and records them. It turns out that this is the sound of a gunshot and a punctured tire of the car that got into an accident that killed a presidential candidate. Jack has proof on his hands that the car crash was not an accident, and he has an entire political faction against him.

I watched 'Blow Out' on the recommendation of Quentin Tarantino, who said in an interview that this thriller, along with Howard Hawks' 'Rio Bravo', was one of his favorite films. Tarantino is a man with a peculiar taste, but as a sophisticated cinematographer he understands what 'good cinema' means.

After watching the movie till the end I didn't regret listening to Tarantino. I had high hopes for this film, and they were justified.

The Puncture is a breathtaking thriller shot in the best, "Hitchcockian" tradition of the genre. It has everything that a sharp plot film needs, dynamic development of events, a great number of riddles, the answer to which, at first sight, does not exist, and, of course, an unexpected ending. An excellent acting, only strengthens the good impression of the movie. We would like to mention young John Travolta, who brilliantly played a simple man looking for the inconvenient truth.

Brian De Palma's author's tricks add spice to the film and fuel the viewer's interest. The soundtrack performs the same function. Taken together, all this makes 'The Puncture' a true benchmark of the genre.
