Story Movie

New York, 1799. Ichabod Crane, a young constable, is sent to a place called Sleepy Hollow to investigate mysterious murders. The victims are all reported by the local population to have been killed by the sword of a headless horseman.

They are all decapitated and the heads disappear. Crane has to make sure that this is not a legend, but the terrible truth. It becomes obvious that the killer comes from the other side of the world, that witches and other evil are involved in the crimes. The Horseman cannot be killed by a bullet, all the brave men he defeats in fights. But what are the motives behind the atrocities...?

Review 4K Movie

I remember the first time I saw this movie and was very excited. Almost 24 years later, it's even more exciting than when I was a kid. You enjoy what's happening in the movie and get high. You find new things. For example, I did not know that such a large number of actors, who in the future will play in the cult Harry Potter and here played important roles. Of course I'm talking about Michael Gambon, Miranda Richardson and Richard Griffiths. Of course there are quite a few interesting characters besides them as well.

Tim Burton shoots very beautifully and atmospherically. But here in addition to aesthetics turned out a beautiful horror story, which after more than 20 years is relevant, interesting and striking.

Of course, I'm used to the Depp/Burton tandem and it almost always turns out very cool. But this movie is much deeper, brighter and more intense than just a tandem of actor and director. There's a gripping story, a great detective element, not a bad horror movie, and of course a very intense ending.

The amazing Danny Elfman has said his word and his music emphasizes the atmosphere of the movie, as mysterious and enchanting, which again is pleasant to hear and immerse in it.

Of course, the costumes and sets are a separate work of art, Oscar was deserved.

Johnny Depp. Johnny's character at first seems to be a very tough and stubborn guy, who is not satisfied with the way crime investigations take place, but when he finds himself in an unnatural environment he changes significantly, although his skills remain the same. I liked him best in the joint shots with Christina Ricci.

Christina Ricci. She was a great addition to Johnny. Her character seems so confident and fun at first, then she changes. The closeness of her and Johnny was liked, they were a great fit for each other.

Miranda Richardson. Her heroine is not too simple as it may seem at first glance, she has her own purpose and her own motivation. Toward the end, she opens up well. And shows her true colors.

Michael Gambon. It was interesting to watch him. Without the Beard and in the image to which he is accustomed. He left a very good impression.

Christopher Walken. It was a discovery for me that he played in this movie for free, and how he played. He didn't have much playing time, but his teeth, demonic smile - it was amazing. Probably his most unusual role and so appealing.
