Marion Crane is unhappy with an affair with a divorced man, who pays her attention only on visits. Therefore, the girl steals a large sum at work and in a hurry runs out of the city. At the motel where Marion is staying overnight, she meets its owner - a very strange young man.

As you know, there are cult films in every genre, but not so many that are, combining a mixture of different genres. 'Psycho' is a vivid example, here you have both a tense thriller and a strong detective, there are notes of a horror movie and you can even follow small touches of a love drama.

'Psycho', thanks to its excellent direction, balances very well in this genre whirlwind, thereby keeping the viewer in maximum tension. The beautiful music of the film composer Bernard Hermann adds color.

But all these advantages of the picture would not have been so significant without an amazing cast. The main character is the owner of a roadside motel, Norman Bates, brilliantly played by Anthony Perkins. It is difficult, almost impossible to imagine someone else in this role. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the other roles of this wonderful actor. I only heard that in fact this film is his main merit in the cinema.

Janet Lee deserves no less epithets and admiration for her role as Merion Crane. A beautiful woman and a wonderful actress. The scenes of the film, where the dialogues between the characters of Perkins and Lee take place, are very memorable. With the naked eye, mutual interest is noticeable, creating a light flair of love attraction.

Vera Miles (Layla) and John Gavin (Sam) performed their roles superbly. Martin Balsam is also inimitable as detective Arbogast.

'Psycho' is one of the best films by Alfred Hitchcock and an absolute masterpiece of world cinema!
