Story Movie

On a research base located on one of the distant planets, arrives the main character of the picture - a "cool" space fighter. Idyllic life, which he lives at first (spending time mainly in communication with the beautiful half of the station staff) suddenly explodes into a terrible nightmare. A certain artificially created protein creature bursts out of the scientific laboratory, starting to devour everything and everyone in its path with inhuman speed....

Review 4K Movie

The debut work of director Allan Holtzman, which is essentially a clone-variety of the movie 'Alien' by Ridley Scott, tells about the wonders of genetic engineering, whose experiment on a distant planet went, of course, not as expected. And as a result, there was a creepy monster that turns people into huge cocoons of protein, which he feeds on.

From the similarities with 'Alien' can be cited in the example of the final monster, which even has eyes in the mouth, as in xenomorphs, as well as the general concept of running in a closed futuristic space room, with a non-communicative monster and people on the elimination. That's where the similarities end, and what follows are a number of rather unique features of the movie, from the unconventional plot twists to the awesome method of eliminating the monster. So the movie, for all its secondary nature, is very much worth watching for all fans of sci-fi horror in the style of 'Metamorphosis: The Alien Factor'.

The movie is extremely fast-paced, which is a huge plus. If you don't see action, monster and battles in a scene on the screen, then you are faced with either meaningful interesting dialogs that shed light on the whole story, or beautiful nude scenes, presented here in their abundance, and really embellished the movie.

Characters in the picture were quite memorable, many are very bright and charismatic. Despite the fact that the characters in the movie can be counted on your fingers - there are only ten of them, the picture does not look like any amateurish circle or low-budget fake parody. Not at all, on the contrary, the heroes are revealed, the characters are clearly described, and for such characters you really feel very much.

From the very beginning we see a space hunter, with his robot assistant. This analog of the team 'Millennium Falcon' from 'Star Wars', but the robot differs from Chewbacca in its ability to speak. A scientist named Barbara, who the facility manager says is the best at genetics, looks more like a porn model than a female scientist.

And the second young lady on the ship looks like the students in 'Jason X'. However, such characters did not even benefit the movie. Despite the inconsistency of their appearance and their profession, they decorated the movie with a lot of nude scenes. Charming twenty-year-old Dawn Dunlap looks simply marvelous, pleasing us with the beauty of her naked body from all angles, and the prolonged sex scene of the space hunter and Barbara was also quite beautiful and spectacular. Other characters, such as a negro mechanic, a scientist with a cancerous tumor, a student who became the first victim, and others, are also memorable.

The visual effects and makeup in the picture turned out very well. Not to say that the monsters are so stunningly made, as in 'Outside' or 'Metamorphosis: The Alien Factor', but all the same are made quite qualitatively and realistically to believe in the reality of what is happening and be horrified by the toothy and dangerous creatures.

The makeup and bloody effects were also successful to the glory. Let the first murder in the movie is not so spectacular, but it is extremely bloody, and the mutilated corpse, which lost half of its head, also shows the most different phases of decomposition. Other bloody scenes will please the viewer, where a cancerous tumor is cut out of the body alive, or a woman is pierced through, the movie is highly recommended for fans of spectacular dismemberment.

The musical component was simply gorgeous, if we don't take into account some classical music playing at the very beginning of the movie. It is not only out of place, but also completely out of the genre of the movie, unlike the rest of the work of composer Susan Justine, who wrote very effective and at the same time beautiful music. In addition, this work is as much a career debut for Susan as it is for director Allan Holtzman. The first pancake did not go wrong for anyone, and the picture was a truly gorgeous spectacle.

For its time, the movie is more than watchable. However, nowadays it is quite strange to look at rather strange costumes, obvious robot implausibility and plastic blasters in the hands of serious grown-up people, so the budget spent on visual effects hit hard on costumes and armament of characters. Then again, again, the movie was at its best in the 80s and even the 90s, and only now especially picky viewers may get a minus for such things. I personally agree with the budget bias in meat, monsters and nudity and support this decision. The money was spent in the right way, and for cool blasters, see 'Star Trek' and 'Star Wars'. In R horror movies, scary monsters, beautiful girls, and plenty of blood and meat are important, and this is here in abundance, believe me.

And despite the fact that the movie, of course, is inferior to 'Alien', 'Outside', and 'Metamorphosis: The Alien Factor', it still turned out to be awesome from start to finish. And even a couple of minuses didn't spoil its spectacularity.
