This phrase was spoken in another cult horror franchise by director Wes Craven – Scream 2. This phrase is perfectly suited to the sequel to the cult film about the maniac Freddy Krueger with his trump card glove. It is so unremarkable, dull, and simply derivative that I don't even know whether to watch the subsequent parts or just stop wasting my time.

First of all, the running time. Not only is the film less than an hour and a half long, but it also manages to remain boring. The multitude of completely unnecessary episodes and characters introduced for no apparent reason leave me stumped. What's the point of the whole introduction with the bus on the edge of the cliff? Why the hell did Freddy end up in our world and is now trying to get hold of the body of one of the dim-witted local teenagers? What was the director thinking when he allowed the actors to perform in this manner? It is difficult to even call it acting.

The weak dialogue and the almost complete absence of adequate characters make the film a dull and boring spectacle. You do not feel connected to the story; it is simply not interesting. Once again, we have clueless parents who don't believe their children, and once again, we have a crooked ending with a predictable “hint of a sequel.” Honestly, even in the Halloween franchise, the second part, despite the absence of the first director, managed to remain at a fairly decent level of quality.

Of course, visually, the sequel is better than the original, but that would be insignificant if the second part looked worse than the first. After all, time has passed, and the budget has almost doubled. And that's the only plus of the sequel. At least the local murders are somewhat interesting to watch.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge is the worst example of a sequel to a completely finished cinematic work. Wes Craven did not want a sequel, and only the producer remained from the creators of the original in the sequel, and producers, as we know, cannot be trusted. Hence such a spectacular failure. I really hope that the third installment will be better, since Craven himself has returned to it.
