Pusher Frank is in big trouble. He owes 50,000 to his suppliers from the South Slavs, and on top of that, while he was selling heroin to visiting Swedes, the police raided him, and all the borrowed goods had to be thrown into a pond. Tonny's friend, with whom he worked together, confessed everything to the police. But the goods were thrown away, there was no evidence, and Frank was released. Now he owes Milo's supplier 180,000.

After reading the synopsis, which was about a week in the life of a low-level pusher who got caught with money and had to somehow save his ass, I thought I was in for some amateur production about 'notions' and criminal romance.

But the movie was much deeper than I thought it would be. Yes, it's about gangsters, but the cornerstone is the human relationship between the protagonist and his girlfriend, sidekick and boss, not a showdown with shooters.

The main character is not God's dandelion, but not Tony Montana either, he is an ordinary man with his own life principles, who earns his living by dealing drugs. His troubles do not cause sympathy or pity, he himself is to blame for everything, but damn how the Danish actor Kim Bodnia, who plays the main role, attracts to himself. Perfect hit in the role, a rare combination of worldly simplicity and charisma, and Kim plays like a god, although all the actors in Pusher looked great.

Besides actors, the movie is good with sound - great rock compositions from unknown Danish bands, as well as camerawork - running and 360-degree camera turns are filmed perfectly.

In general, the director gives us to think about love and friendship, about loyalty and betrayal in the scenery of 'other' Denmark, not civilized and well-groomed, but dirty and criminal.

Is it worth watching Pusher? Yes, if you like life movies without hyperbolic denigration of reality or Hollywood embellishment.
