Child's Play 3 4K 1991 Ultra HD 2160p
Andy is now 16 years old and in training at Kent Military School. And businessman Peter Haskell resumes production of dolls. And the first to come off the assembly line is the unforgettable Chucky, possessed by the spirit of the dead killer. He still has not got rid of his thoughts of moving into the boy's body and leaving the fun-loving guise of a child's toy that he hates.

Review 4K Movie

The first part of the trilogy 'Children's Games' was lucky to be released at the end of the era of slasher monopolization of all horror cinema. That's why the film was seen, remembered and loved. It was only a question of time after unbelievable box-office success (in spite of the fact that 'A Nightmare on Elm Street', 'Halloween' and 'Friday the 13th' reigned supreme) for a sequel, and two years later we saw the second part which was not an evolution of the original concept, but a slasher from the very beginning to the end, with all the clichés of this film genre.

The second part also collected a lot of money, so the authors, on the wave of success, decided to hastily turn their tale of the maniac Chucky, imprisoned in a doll, into a trilogy. The trilogy came out the very next year after the second part and changed a lot of the usual movie.

As you may well remember, the first two films of the trilogy were about the childhood of Andy Barkley - the man who had the misfortune of being the first person on the planet to hear the so-called 'Chucky's secret', which made Chucky only able to inhabit his body, so he chased only Andy.

Unbeaten in the first film, Chucky chased Andy through the second until he was defeated... and again not conclusively, as we are told in the threequel. The thing is, this time Chucky is recreated from scratch, so now he can tell his secret to absolutely anyone he wants.

Over the course of the two films, however, Chucky has apparently developed an incomprehensible affinity for children. Whereas in the original film he cursed fate for first revealing his secret to a child, in the threequel he has a huge choice of who to reveal the secret to, but again he chooses a child, only this time consciously.

Most likely, the screenwriters simply didn't want to change the original, time-tested and box-office-proven film concept, because Chucky, the maniac, had already become associated with toys and small children, so no one wanted to change the concept for something completely different, alien. After all, there is a great danger that the viewer does not want to go to the remade film.

The only major change that happened in the concept of the film is Andy Barkley growing up. In the threequel, he is transferred to the 'Kent Military School,' where he quickly learns all the horrors of cadet life. Maybe the movie should have been called 'Cadet Games'...?

Verdict. The sequel to the good, something original, and for some, even the cult series 'Children's Games' changes the original concept a little, but entertains us with the same proven tricks. However, it is recommended to watch only for the insane fans of Chucky's adventures, because the threequel is not such a slasher as the second part: there is much less blood and more attention is paid to the unnecessary feature inserts. It is pleasing, however, that the film has adopted the idea of frightening the audience with music from 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' and 'Halloween'. However, the scary music is heard only in the first minutes, and then it seems to have been forgotten about - in vain.
