Story Movie
After the invasion of her reservation by a mysterious tornado and the death of his father, Daniel Moonstar wakes up bound in a hospital bed. Dr. Reyes informs the girl that she is the only survivor, and now, together with four teenagers, she is in a specialized institution, where they are studied and taught to control their superpowers. Soon Dani finds out that it is impossible to leave the territory fenced off by the force field, and the guys begin to pursue seemingly very real nightmares.
Review 4K Movie
The film is certainly not devoid of shortcomings, but for the fact that it tells an excellent story with excellent morality, for the fact that after watching there is something to think about, for the fact that there is something to learn from the heroes of the film, which is now extremely small, because this is not another superhero movie with a maximum of action (which, by the way, do not mind at all, I love films about superheroes) and a minimum of logic, for the fact that comic book characters here are revealed in a new light, from a different angle, I put, of course, a fat plus.
The X-Men is definitely a graphic novel worth filming. In my opinion, this is the best, or at least one of the best that Marvel has and in general in comics. But if you do this, turning the heroes into regular adversaries to absolute evil, the franchise will lose all its flavor and all that for which the X-Men are singled out and loved.
Any story can be presented in different ways. As a vigorous comedy, for example, replete with scenes of fights, from which the heroes emerge victorious every time, without really straining, or you can show the opposite, how the characters only overcoming difficulties and hardships become heroes, be they negative or positive, or whatever. It can be presented as a drama, focusing on the hardships of the heroes and their tragedies. Or as a horror movie. Even if the history of an ordinary person, because life is full of each of the listed aspects. But in some story there will still be more of these or those sides, depending on the attitude to these events and the narrator and the hero himself. The period of life that the characters of this film experienced was more like a drama and a horror film.
Perhaps only the narrator (director) himself was not very lucky, and he was not fully able to convey to the listener (the viewer in this case) the whole range of experiences of the heroes who survived that story. But still, the main moments of the story are told, there is both logic and common sense in it. If you think a little more about what you saw, about the motives of the heroes, about the motives of the villains, learn the backstory of each hero in more detail, because everything is simply unrealistic to fit into 2 hours, if you go beyond the expectations of clichéd films about superheroes, and even if you discard homophobia and femon-hatred, then you get incredible pleasure still more than succeed.
So we are told about a group of adolescents who got literally on experiments to a certain organization that wants to use the powers of mutants for their own purposes. Moreover, under the guise of a charitable organization that is allegedly trying to 'help' the carriers of Gene-X. Using the example of the last 'arrived', we are quite able to feel the emotions that can be experienced, being in such a place. It is also not bad, very not badly told about the emotions that a person experiences when he first discovered superpowers in himself and is unable to control them. He is afraid of himself, he is afraid of his own kind, he is like a straw, clings to those who say what they want and can help - we are all in situations that we cannot control, circumstances that harm us and our loved ones. This is despair, this is fear. These are attempts to get out at any cost and powerlessness from endless failures. And only fear for the life of a dear person gives moral strength to fight further, makes it clear who really wants to help, who values you, who needs you, and who wants to use you, in whom there is actually not an ounce of moral principles and good intentions.
Of course, it's a pity that the characters are so little disclosed, especially so little has been said about Ulyana, and her very behavior at the beginning raises great doubts among those who are familiar with her from the comics. Nevertheless, the story turned out to be very good and interesting.
Yes, the Marvel Universe is a multiverse. And that was long before it was talked about in DC and even more so in films. There are many parallel universes, the same characters made different choices. The number of such universes exceeds 10,000. For example, in one of them, Wolverine kills the X-Men because of the illusions cast by Mysterio. In another, Charles Xavier dies at the hands of Magneto. And so on.
For reference - the universe where the events of the films take place is part of the MCU, has the name 'TRN414 Earth' - the events of the X-Men films Future Past, First Class and Dark Phoenix, as well as Deadpool took place on it. The events of the Films X-Men 1,2,3 and partially Days of Future Past - take place in the universe 'Earth 10005'. In 2017, the rights to the X-Men passed from 20th FOX to Disney and, accordingly, to Marvel. So there are less gags here than it might seem at first glance. Marvel wouldn't let their characters be fucked up. Naturally, Disney now, of course, has its own requests for what is happening on the screens.
