1943, the height of the Second World War. Female officer Maud Garrett with a secret cargo gets into the American bomber B-17 "Flying Fortress" and immediately becomes the object of ridicule. The captain orders her to take a seat in the machine gunner's cockpit under the belly of the plane, from where the girl notices a Japanese fighter and a strange creature on the fuselage. If for the time being she decides to tolerate the sexist comments of the team, then she does not intend to allow enemy planes and heavenly goblins to dominate the sky.

I want to tell you about an interesting film with Chloe Grace Moretz, known to many for her role as Killer in Kick-Ass. It's called Shadow in the Cloud and was released earlier this year.

Quite recently, Chloe starred in the not very successful "Tom and Jerry", but if anyone noticed the previous film about airplanes, he is unlikely to want to watch after meeting the ratings.

It takes place in the forties, there is a war and a girl pilot, Maud Garrett, literally bursts into a B-17 Flying Fortress plane, which is taking off. She claims that she has a special mission and although the crew makes fun of her, she is afraid to conflict - there is a feeling that Maud has serious patrons at the top.

The plane takes off. The mod sits inside the machine gun tower - the plane is on assignment. And then a strange mixture of horror, fantasy, and mid-air shootings will begin.

Although the film is called "Air Combat", there are not so many battles in it. Disinformation is on the side of localizers here, the correct name is "Shadow in the Clouds". And here it just conveys the meaning - something from the clouds will attack the plane.

The movie has a few tricks. The first is cool lighting work. The viewer will constantly catch reflections of red and green - colors that are strongly associated with aviation. There is a green light on the starboard side of the aircraft, and a red light on the left. This is so that other pilots can understand exactly how the plane is positioned in the air. Naturally, the military aircraft on assignment did not have these lights - but the film was originally filmed unrealistic - this is a comic that sacrifices any realism for the sake of beauty of the effects.

The second feature is that for a significant part of the film, we will only see the character of Chloe Grace Moretz. She will sit inside a cramped weapon tower, and the viewer will have to figure out what is happening above - the rest of the crew will exist only in the form of voices on the radio. Such claustraphobic films were at one time popular - even to recall "Buried Alive", filmed minimalist, but terrifyingly frightening.

The authors of "Air Combat" are also trying their best to make fun of the viewer - towards the end there will be several eerie scenes at great heights. True, the nerves of the viewer are still cherished here - it is impossible to believe that Maud Garrett will not cope with the tests.
