Review 4K Movie

Yeah. Taub Hooper made me love him with the first 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (after all, the review of the first film was one of my first on this site), but the second part practically makes me hate Hooper. It failed, of course, but the fact that 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2' is an idiotic, insane thrash is a fact. But what's worse is the endless number of positive reviews for this crap. They say it's trash, hilarious and black humor. And I wouldn't mind, but is it okay that this is actually a sequel to a very serious, mind-blowing, brutal horror flick? What's in it?

Well, in order. Here's Dennis Hopper, catching a gang of maniacs who killed two idiots who had previously called the radio host in the house Jack built. Now, Dennis Hopper here doesn't seem to understand what is required of his character and what, in fact, is to be played. He is either confused, or dejected, or suddenly begins to naturally yell 'I'll show you his mother-in-law' and runs around with chainsaws. The protagonist is just a nobody, but against the backdrop of the general brainiac, this is normal.

The creepiest creepiness is the Sawyer family, i.e. maniacs. They jump, leap, scurry, constantly flashing in the frame, clowning around, uttering random phrases - what is this? Why did Jim Seedow agree to play here, who obviously saw his Drayton "Cook" Sawyer go from being just a sick man to a clown getting his ass cut with a chainsaw and babbling something inarticulate? Bill Moseley as Chop-Top Sawyer is darkness in general, the attempt to adopt Sawyer's Nubbins "The Hitchhiker" from the first part fails miserably because Moseley is squirming like a harlequin, not knowing how to fit himself in and what other nonsense to grind. And then there's the main star, Bubba 'Leatherface' Sawyer - in the first part he was retarded, but here it feels like the kid was pulled up in height and given a chainsaw. He is unrealistically dumb and doesn't seem to want to kill anybody at all, for example, in the attack on the radio station he cuts up some boxes, an ice bath, but the woman screaming in front of him - no way. Well, he's still a Ded Sawyer. Nothing extraordinary, just tried to repeat the scene with a hammer and a bucket from the first part.

The logic in the film is curious in its absence. And from the very beginning when the car is easily cut up with a chainsaw, plus then they say that this car was even driven at 140 km/h. Yes, it's a Mercedes, but it's okay that a maniac truck was going RETURNING along with it, you script pissants. The scenes are wildly drawn out. Not all of them, but the aforementioned attack on the radio station could have had a good three-quarters of its running time thrown out (although, truth be told, I would have advised throwing out the whole movie, but...). The infamous humor that actually ruined the picture - the supposedly funny scenes turned out to be horrible shit that didn't make me smile even once. Oh yes, add to that the totally ugly electronic soundtrack - voila, the foul-smelling mix is ready.

But no, wait - there's Tom Savini's special effects here, so - they're as good as ever. The pipe with the guts, the man with the skinned face - as far as bloodletting and meat, the second part really surpassed the first one. There's just one little nuance - this is the only superiority of the sequel. Otherwise it is a crude, clumsy, incomprehensible and simply God-awful production and, probably, an attempt to earn money from a respected director. How's that for even that...
