Story Movie

Eleven-year-old Weida Saltenfass lives in a large house with her father and her demented grandmother. Her father is in the business of providing funeral services, and his funeral home is located right in the Saltenfass family home. The gloomy, funeral atmosphere of the house has a depressing effect on the girl. Mr. Saltenfass is completely immersed in work, after the death of his wife, he has no other interests in life. But everything changes when the funeral home hires a new employee. Cheerful Shelly forces Mr. Saltenfass to crawl out of his shell of emotional alienation - Weida has never seen her father so happy.

To be honest, I don't remember how I heard about this movie - I just saw it written in my notebook under the heading 'must see' and watched it. This movie was born a few years ahead of me - and I rarely know what to expect from movies like this. All in all - 'My Girl' - I liked it. Let's elaborate.

The plot is relevant and in our time - parents very often forget about their children and head off to work, and little boys and girls develop a bunch of complexes and problems, with which they do not know how to fight. Every such family needs a bright star that will light up everything around them - and that's where Shelley comes in.

I knew Jamie Lee Curtis from her funny role in the movie 'Freaky Friday', but here she looked like a completely different person - I found nothing in common between Shelley and Jamie in 2007. She was transformed in that 1991 movie and did a brilliant job in the role! I didn't see Anna Klamski anywhere else - but I liked this girl as my heart clenched when I saw her huge sad eyes. They picked the right actress for the role. They hit the mark. Macaulay Culkin - always staying home alone - and he too I saw in a slightly different role that I hadn't seen him in before... totally different guy. Played very pure and sincere. Bravo!

This movie is very touching and heartfelt - I roared. It's about first love, about first kiss, about true friendship and help. And unfortunately - about coffins, which is the reason for everything that happens in 'My Girl'. I think that this sweet and kind tape should be watched by every person - you will lose a lot if you don't watch this movie. It makes you think about life and the people who are around us.
