Jeepers Creepers: Reborn.

Yesterday I decided to review the Salva trilquel (which I once tried to justify by writing a neutral review). For all its flaws (especially the visuals, of course) - I couldn't tear myself away from watching it. Interesting as hell!

Salva brushed off "Reborn." Didn't sit in the director's chair. Didn't write the script. Didn't produce it.

Timo Vuorensola is listed as the director here. Unlike Salva, Vuorensola had never directed a horror film. Timo became famous for the sci-fi thriller Iron Sky. By the way, the man did a reverse in his direction when the main character mentioned Nazis on the moon.

I'm not arguing, Timo may be capable of concocting some good thrash, but that's not the situation here. Jeepers Creepers is an iconic horror character (from the noughties of the 21st century). You want an atmospheric and creepy horror movie with this winged fellow. Timo, on the other hand, has produced a dumb parody.

Yes, yes, exactly a parody. "Reborn" already parodies the original in the first minutes (frame by frame!). An elderly couple is driving a car. A truck catches up with them. Then they observe a mysterious figure dropping bags down a chimney.

I don't understand anything. What's going on? He's making fun of Victor's work. Piglet! Next we are introduced to the main characters. The guys are on their way to a junkie horror festival. The darkest part is that the banter doesn't stop.

Didn't they make a movie about it? Yeah, three whole ones. They're all second-rate.

So you call your movie "Reborn," but instead of reviving and elevating Jeepers, you start belittling the original pictures.

Don't you think this is a deliberately losing move, my dear Creepers fans. Anyway, the characters arrive at the festival. Jeepers climbs out of some dumpster and massacres.

Whoever criticized the Creepers truck and its appearance in the third movie - compare it to "Reborn." It's heaven and earth. The monster looks like a gargoyle under a flyswatter (or Jones' Rumpelstiltskin for the poor, ah-ha-ha).

Again, concept. What's the big deal - Creepers strutting (for about 30-40 minutes) around the house. That's not Michael Myers. It's not even Chucky. It's an ancient evil on a scary truck. Why should I believe this crap?

You should also put it in a giant mall. Timo doesn't understand how Creepers works or what to do with it. He tries to turn the whole thing into a regular slasher. A house (from which there is no way out), screaming teenagers, a maniac.

The apotheosis of scripted helplessness is the cultists (Creepers fans), i.e. Jeepers now has his own cult. So much for that.
