After a tough school year, five students decide to spend a couple of days in a small forest cabin. Despite the strange behavior of the locals, they intend to relax properly, but suddenly their plans are disrupted by an encounter with a vagrant with terrible, seemingly rotting skin. The guys manage to get rid of the unfortunate man, but they don't know that he has managed to poison the local water supply, and an unknown infection is already spreading throughout the area.

Eli Roth is like Quentin Tarantino from the world of horror. He also loves old movies and understands how they work, but there is one thing that Eli himself has noticed—he doesn't know how to write dialogue. Seriously, if you think about what his characters are saying, most of it sounds strange, on par with Shyamalan's “Do you like hot dogs?” at an unnecessary moment. But at the same time, that's what attracts me to his films, the way you laugh at the silly chatter at first, and then, when the action starts, it's like you've been hit in the knee with a sledgehammer.

And here we have his debut film, Fever.

Roth chose the appropriate trash genre (or B-movie) for his debut, because no one will take the film seriously. And that's how it turned out for me.

This film is very entertaining. It didn't make me yawn and wait for blood, because it's funny to listen to the nonsense the characters spout. What's more, the film has some pretty good humor, so you can have a chuckle. Although the scene with the kung fu kid looked ridiculous.

The actors performed decently. The characters turned out normal. They may have been annoying at times, but surprisingly they managed to think logically, especially for an Eli Roth film.

The deaths and practical effects are done really well. They're bloody and well done, especially the scene in the bathtub. And the sore itself looks creepy.

So, is the movie scary? No. Is it entertaining? Yes. I recommend this movie if you want to watch some trashy fun.
