Story Movie

A young boy discovers that he has inherited an abandoned hotel in the backwoods of West Virginia. Together with his friends he goes there, where he meets strange relatives he has never heard of. The joy of an unexpected inheritance is quickly replaced by horror - the new family lives by laws that are better not to know about.

Review 4K Movie

The sixth installment is no longer the horror film that made the original so beloved. The forest, chases, and survival have been replaced by a cheap slasher film set in a resort, where there is more nudity than real tension. The villains, once terrifying and unpredictable, have become mere props.

The only reason to watch it is out of fan loyalty to the franchise. The plot about inheritance is far fetched, the actors are forgettable, and the ending leaves no emotion. It's a shame the premise had potential.
