A former boyfriend of a supermarket cashier comes to see her just before the end of her shift. The young couple gets into an argument, and a security guard throws the guy out onto the street. Review 4K Movie

I watched this movie back in 1999, on TV, and ever since then I’ve really wanted to watch it again, no matter how much time has passed. I finally found it, downloaded it, watched it, and felt nothing but delight. The movie was just as gripping and compelling as ever; when it ended, it felt like only 20 minutes had passed since it started.
It’s worth noting the amazing atmosphere that persists throughout the entire film, that tension that doesn’t let up until the very end. The concept of hopelessness is brilliant—the sense that there’s nowhere to run for the characters trapped in the store, who have no idea of the danger lurking right beside them. The killer seems to be toying with them, approaching, then retreating, only to reappear. The murders are depicted vividly, but not in a gruesome way. The actors all give solid performances; there’s no one to criticize. All the characters are well-developed. Sam Raimi stands out in particular, having played his seemingly minor role in a very realistic and lifelike manner. The film’s ending is also striking—it’s very original!
Of course, someone might say that a movie can’t be without flaws, but no matter how hard I looked, I couldn’t find any. Horror movies are still being made today, but they’re based entirely on special effects and gore, and no matter how much film buffs criticize old movies, when you compare them fairly to the new ones, their arguments fall flat—because old movies are far more interesting to watch; they’re made with genuine passion, not just empty commercialism.
