British India. Rama is a dedicated policeman in the service of the colonial government, able to deal with a mob alone, and is considered a traitor by the locals. Bhim is a Gond tribesman who is forced to travel to Delhi to find a little tribeswoman kidnapped by the Governor. On learning of this, the Governor announces a reward for his capture, and in order to get promoted, Rama takes up the task. After saving a boy who had fallen into the river, Rama and Bhim become friends. They do not know each other's real identities or ulterior motives, but this acquaintance will be the beginning of a great change.

Review 4K Movie

The premiere of my much awaited movie, which has been postponed so many times, finally took place. Someone arranged a holiday for the fans and we were able to watch the movie on the day of the world premiere, so my dream of 'seeing Ram Charan on the big screen' came true. I am thrilled with the movie, the special effects, the actors, the flying and everything I saw.

First of all, the plot. We were again shown the arbitrariness of the British in India, but from a slightly different angle. I remember when I read Orwell's book about the times of England's rule in India, I was shocked by the description of how low Europeans treat the local population. And this is on some other level than I had imagined before (from other books and movies), this is some other plane of perception - they are not just lower than people, they are not even animals, not things, not someone capable of feeling pain and feelings. So this movie looks at the English lawlessness from the same angle: not the animal rapture of blood and power, but simply the non-recognition of the surrounding population as people. The monologue about how bullets made in an English factory by Englishmen and transported on an English ship are more valuable than the life of an Indian, and then it's not worth wasting bullets on them - that was powerful and it's really how many Englishmen felt about conquered peoples. The plot is linear, centered around two characters, there are no particularly unexpected twists and turns: we get a sense of who is what and what they are fighting for. The movie runs a little over 3 hours and the writers didn't spread themselves thin by distracting us with secondary characters or double bottoms. I believed that Ram Charan's character must have some purpose since he acts in such a way (betrayal, acting against his own) and we are shown that by being sent back to his past for a while. Everything falls into place and the plot moves on again, gathering momentum to erupt into a massive volcanic eruption at the end.

Secondly, allegories. When we are first introduced to the characters, two parallels are drawn: Ram Charan's character = fire, and NTRml's character = water. = water. We are brought back to these images several times during the movie, and at the moment of their clash at the Governor's palace, this idea unfolds in full force. It is really a clash of two elements, not two people. A parallel is also drawn with the image of the god Rama: one of the main characters is named Rama and his bride Sita. This is also played up in dialog and actions, and is especially evident in the final battle. We often laugh that South Indian movies break the laws of physics, so this movie was no exception. But it turns out to be justified on the big screen. When Ram Charan flew above the ground in a long jump, hitting dozens of targets with his bow arrows, it really felt like the avatar Vishnu himself had descended to Earth to punish the invaders and oppressors of his people. It was so beautiful, spectacular and unbelievable that one could believe in divine intervention, because ordinary mortals are not capable of what the heroes did on the screen.

Thirdly, the special effects. There were a lot of them, they were amazing imagination with their realism and were slightly fake. For example, scenes with animals. If wolves and deer did not disappoint me much, then tigers and leopards did not turn out at all. Back when I watched Disney's 'The Jungle Book', I was outraged by the implausibility of SherHan - no plasticity, and his jumps resembled the fall of a sack of potatoes. Here the fight with the tiger is made on a higher level, but the grace of the felines no computer can convey yet. Explosions, fire avalanches, panoramic views, nature were wonderful, it was impossible to take your eyes off the screen, so colorful and bright everything happening. Honestly speaking, if it was not the only show in my city, and there would be more sessions as in Moscow, I would definitely go again to judge not for the plot, but for the beauty of the frame. Thank you very much to Rajamouli - his movies are a delight for the eyes. That's why I have been waiting for this movie for so long, hoping that the magic of 'Magadheera' will be repeated.

And fourthly, for sweetness sake, about the cast. I honestly don't like N.T.Rama Rao Jr. and was terribly upset when the cast of the movie was still being announced for 2018. But here he was good, credible enough for the character, huge enough for a hero of this magnitude, kind enough for a friend and savior. Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt had little screen presence, but the images suited them perfectly: a 'second skin' as they say. Their characters were important to the story, unlike Shriya Saran, who I was glad to see, but she was on the fringes of the movie, barely making a dent in it. Of the English part of the cast, I don't know anyone, but I liked everyone. Governor Scott was particularly well done: a totally confident typical imperialist. Despite his English restraint, his contempt for the inferior was palpable in his intonations. Here I am very glad that I watched with subtitles, as the voices of the actors themselves in this case additionally played on the images, and also there is a part of scenes where some characters speak in Hindi and others in English and it is important for understanding. The girl, because of whom the whole mess was made, villagers, rebellious men, snob aristocrats - all played perfectly, not a drop of falsity, pathos, overplaying or bored presence in the frame I did not notice. And of course, Ram Charan is the star of this show! For me, he was the main driving force and the main reason to watch the movie. I didn't even expect such a flood of power from the screen, it gripped me, swirled me and swept away, leaving me utterly enthralled! Is that where it was hiding? Shortly before that I watched the promotion in Kapil Sharma's program: he was sitting modestly in the corner of the sofa, smiling quietly, nicely inserted a couple of lines .... and suddenly there was a typhoon or a volcano on the screen. And to what he was here beautiful in appearance - from a boy, as I loved him in 'Cheetah Leap' and 'The Great Warrior', turned into a man whose strength is to be reckoned with.

So I recommend the movie for viewing. The story is fictional, but about real personalities. So to speak, the author's fantasy on the subject, and what if they met in real life. Dance only one and very energetic (and under the credits at the end danced a little bit, showing us the images of famous Indian revolutionaries), spectacle sea, acting charm even more. If your city will show it in the theater, then definitely go - you won't regret it!!!
