Review 4K Movie

Let me start with the fact that I have great respect and appreciation for the work of the legendary Martin Scorsese, who decided, once again, to surprise the audience with his super modern nano-technologies. This time, the director decided to act as a creator of family movies, and not just as usual, but in the now-fashionable 3D format. Of course, it is virtually impossible to pass by his next work, because each work of this brilliant filmmaker soon become a true classic and rarity. From this movie, initially, I expected not much. But the movie was so actively praised on the Internet that I was determined to see a really good movie. In connection with the New Year, which has already come, shrouded in various New Year's bustle, I never managed to visit the nearest theater. So many things to do that I didn't even have free time. But today, I still managed to get out of work, and decided to buy a ticket for a fairy tale created by a genius and just a good man.

At the end of watching this picture, I came out somehow upset. I do not know what and how, but the picture actually disappointed me. I didn't see here practically any memorable scenes which I would soon revise, I didn't find here any morals, philosophy, and, in general, sense which would teach my child something valuable, expensive and necessary. I don't argue, it was genuinely nice to see the birth of world cinema. But it's unlikely that little kids will like it. People demand as much as possible bread, spectacles and unique spectator emotions, and here with this picture everything is very, very weak.

Still, in spite of all those emotions that this movie caused me, the picture made me feel nostalgic and remember the legendary works of its legendary creator. Every minute you can feel the accent of a brilliant man who gladly gave his life to modern cinema. There are no words to express my gratitude to this cleverest, in my opinion, man. Thanks to you, dear Martin, we watched and will watch 'Casino' and the very interesting horror film 'Island of the Damned'. I am sincerely grateful to you for giving us your wonderful directorial works, which have already made history and will be popular for many years to come.

But 'The Timekeeper' leaves behind a very controversial residue. On the one hand, the picture seemed to me considerably boring and even a little dragged out. The storyline, around which all the main events are built, seemed to me over-played and mostly unnatural. The story of the picture about an eight-year-old orphan boy, to put it mildly, looks ridiculous. And for Scorsese himself, this is a very weak work. This brilliant creator is capable of more... much more. On the other hand, the picture really makes the viewer believe in a miracle. And at the same time, it gives the viewer a good mood. But I don't think that's what was expected of it. At least I wasn't. True connoisseurs of this famous filmmaker's work will be sincerely disappointed. This time, alas, the director did not justify the expectations of the audience.
