This is a story about happy days when Italian cinema did not yet know what the "crisis of Italian cinema" was. In the center of the picture, divided into three parts, is the Sicilian boy Salvatore.

Review 4K Movie

Usually my favorite pictures are only those films that I have watched countless times and God knows how many more I will revise in the future. The 'New Paradiso Cinema' has seen only once (until now), but I can safely say that it is simply a pearl of cinema.

Tornatore filmed not just a piece of art ... A real dream came true on the screen. And not only Giuseppe. In my opinion, for any person who loves cinema and, at heart, dreams of becoming a famous director or, for example, an actor, this film is a kind of icon.

The plot concept has three parts. In appearance, these seem to be different periods of Salvatore's life. So it basically is. But I still see three loves here: First, it is Salvatore's love for Helen. Oh, Lord, what a dramatic and tear-crying story. Actress Agnese Nano is so beautiful by nature that you can really fall in love with her at first sight. Secondly, the hero's love for Alfredo, who replaced his father and became his best friend. Sentimentality like this I enjoy as much as romance novels. The incomparable performance of Philippe Noiret, no words. Thirdly, in fact, love for the world of cinema. So sincere and pure.

What about music score? To say 'it turned out well' is like saying nothing. The soundtrack is super-genius (!) Delightful, gentle and so clearly emphasizes the necessary scenes that just a tear comes in. I have great respect for Ennio Morricone. He is by far my favorite composer. Separate bow to Andre Morricone (son of Ennio), who wrote the theme of love for the film.

Giuseppe Tornatore is an undoubtedly talented director, he has his own style. He also credited such works as 'The Legend of the Pianist' (1998) and 'Malena' (2000). This suggests that the person is not exhausted after a fantastic start. Along with Sergio Leone, Giuseppe is the Italian film maker whose work I remember by heart.
