In 2011, during a routine repair of a satellite, astronauts in outer space were attacked by a strange swarm flying out of a lunar crater. One astronaut died, and the other, Brian Harper, tried for several years after the incident to convince NASA that an unexplained phenomenon was to blame.

Twelve years later, the moon suddenly goes out of orbit and collides with the Earth, triggering multiple cataclysms and threatening to kill mankind. A self-made astronomer, who first noticed the anomaly and believes the moon to be a mega-structure, unsuccessfully tries to reach the government, so he asks for help from a retired Harper.

Review 4K Movie

Roland Emmerich directed such films as 1996's "Independence Day" and 2004's "The Day After Tomorrow" some of the best sci-fi and natural disaster films ever made. Emmerich is a man who could make decent movies, whose films I love, but here's one of his latest works, the 2016 sequel to "Independence Day," was not great to say the least.

When I saw the trailer "Falling Moon", to be honest I did not expect to see much good, especially when the trailer showed half of the film, not really wanted to go to the theater for this film, but as they say "what the hell," so I decided to watch this creation on the big screen.

In the movie "Falling Moon" the moon for unknown reasons descends from its orbit and collides with the Earth, to save mankind three heroes represented by former astronaut Brian Harper, deputy director of NASA and former astronaut Joe Fuhler and conspiracy theorist Kay C., have to go on a dangerous journey...

Watching "Falling Moon" I can say that the movie came out of a series of "look and forget," I love sci-fi, but not to the extent that the events occurring on the screen for 2 hours, solid puzzlement. The fact that "Falling Moon" throughout the plot is filled with such idiotic situations, which the characters find themselves in, that makes you look at what is happening with a stone face.

There are painfully cliched characters, who turn out to be cardboard and for whom, frankly speaking, there is no desire to worry at all. Up to half of the movie the action develops very tediously, there is no dynamics, any tension of the situation, more or less action scenes appear in the second half of the movie, and here I would like to mention a positive moment the scenes of destruction looked good worth paying tribute to the director who can create epic scenes of destruction, the special effects were at a good level, but the story itself turned out to be absolutely useless, and even a good visual does not save what is happening on the screen.

About the actors. Patrick Wilson, Brian Harper, a former astronaut who has to get involved in saving the Earth and the Moon, an outcast hero who is ready to risk everything to save his family, Patrick Wilson looked good in the character, but to me the character was too clichéd, there was no novelty in him. Halle Berry, Jo Fuhler, a former astronaut and deputy director of NASA, a character from the "I'll do it myself, because there are only idiots around" series, well, not quite herself, but a former colleague and a wacky conspiracy theorist. John Bradley, K.C., a life-long hero who becomes the next-to-last character in what's going on, you know, a "laugh-out-loud" hero.

In general, "Falling Moon" turned out to be an extremely boring film without a gripping story, which does not cause any emotions, it is the case when you feel sorry for the money you spent for the show, I repeat, the movie has pretty good visuals, but you won't get away with it, as they say.
